Yes. Again, the skill gap at the NT level may be miniscule, but that's only today. Tomorrow, this gap will only get wider. And I think that gap is evident in the fact that Japan can qualify out of the group stages and Korea cannot. I think the difference in that outcome was due to the difference quality of players.

So there are more Japanese players in Europe because their agents are greedy?

much better connection in EU is the key. i went over why there are more Japanese players in EU in this very thread. don't want to go over the whole thing again..

one clear example - Gonda (JNT GK from Sagan Tosu) will be moving to Portimonese :rolleyes:o_O

well, thought you meant at NT lvl. overall? especially in organization... yes, Japan is clearly ahead of Korea.. not even a debate imo.

as for Japan getting out of the group from WC from last cycle, I agree wholeheartedly. I stated before, Japan has clear advantage in terms of depth of the squad. J League constantly develops new players while Korea is more or less doomed if one of the "elite" players or generation identified by KFA fail.

I agree with you here. Gonda to Portimonese is a great deal an so unlikely for a korean keeper. I would be damn happy if Cho went to Portugal and he is much better than Gonda to be fair. And yet, he is still in Korea. This is probably the best proof on the big difference.

We will know the answer next wednesday. I'm sure he was rested though. He has Asian Cup duty and had played 3 games in 11 days.

Son deserves this price tag. It doesn't take a genius to know he is head and shoulders above every Japanese player. My point is that Japan has a better sqaud overall. Especally in attacking midfield and defense.

What media are reporting that Makino will start over Tomiyasu? I couldn't find any.

    Here are my sources.

You didn't answer my queston. Are there any Asian full backs that have played the Champions League as a starter for a club like Galatasary this season except for Nagatomo? No matter what you say, he still remains the best left back in Asia. Sakai is a regular starter for Marseille and is easily the best right back in Asia. Yoshida is the only proven CB in a big league at the Asian Cup. I've just noticed that Tomiyasu is the highest valued CB in the Belgian League on Transfermarkt, despite being only 20 years old. He is big club material and even Yoshida is nowhere near his potential. None of the other Asian defenders come close to Japan's starting defenders.

I've never said Japan's defense is rock solid. But thanks to their individual presence, Japan's attackers can focus their energy on scoring, which strengthens their firepower. Japan didn't need to park the bus to get out of the group stage of the World Cup. Teams that park the bus tend to suffer from scoring droughts.

I'm done here. It will go endless.

Is KSG ahead of CHW because he's perceived to be better with his feet?

Japan has a better attacking midfield...?
In what world is Nakajima, Shibasaki, Minamino, Doan, Endo better than Son, Lee Jae Sung, Koo Ja Cheol, Ki Sung Yueng, Hwang Hee Chan, Lee Chung Yong..? If Kwon Chang Hoon weren't injured, it wouldn't even be an argument.

Yea, no fcking idea either but the commentators yesterday said something about Bento preferring KSG because he contributes more in build up.

A good friend of mine theorizes it's because of KSG's kicking accuracy (or that's the only thing he could think of at least).. KSG's long balls tend to be a little bit more accurate than CHW who often kicks it out of play
But if that's the reason that's dumb as fck because in literally every other aspect CHW's better and CHW better be our starting keeper so he can get dat sweet European move

I am most certain he is not an ethnic Peruvian. Peruvians don't write 5 paragraph essays to claim Japan are the kick-ass soccer gods of Asia. Actually they don't normally write that long on anything.

His argument style is very typically Japanese though there are others with that style. Iranian Monitor used to write very long posts to claim Koreans are the worst scum bags of the world. His posts are long because he has to insert half-ass praises of Koreans to mask his true intent in contrast to Valkyrie et. al. who are less skillful and have less patience.

This thread is really childish. Why should you care if Japanese think they are superior? A lot of you react to it because you actually think they may be. Here someone like me, possibly more racist, wins. I don't think I ever argued with Japanese seriously on anything since high school. I just say hurtful things and they try the same. I always win though and they cry or pretend to ignore me.

I agree. A better shot stopper is way more important. A keeper that can kick/pass better is a plus more than a requirement

The difference between Korean and Japanese players is that top Korean players' talent is often more physically based.
Cha BG, Park JS, Park JY, Son HM, all these players have certain physical talent on top of their soccer specific skills.(PJY's case is not immediately obvious but his athletic ability is excellent.) Though not top players, Lee Chonsoo, Kim Shinwook and others too have obvious physical attributes.

On the other hand top Japanese players tend to be more skill-oriented. Outwardly they are not really all that different from the rest. You have to go back to a guy who played in the 1960's to find one who was physically superior. In this respect they are more like the rest of the world.

Son HM appears to be the last of this kind. After him, top Korean youth prospects appear to be more skill oriented. And small. Korea always had 1-2 top attackers above 183cm in each of 4 year span generation but that tradition stopped with Son. LSW, BSH, LKI all these players are ordinary outwardly and small, and Koreans are not only trying to emulate Japanese in techniques but are becoming more and more like Japanese physically.

I deeply regret this trend. Korea will never catch up and lose all the advantages they had over Japanese.

You are trying too hard. That pompous swagger is really hilarious.
