96'er Nils Körber has 9 clean sheets in 19 match days for VfL Osnabrück, conceding only 13 goals so far this season. His team is first place in 3 Liga right now and in strong contention for promotion. He's on loan from Hertha so wonder what the plan will be for next season.

I think for the sake of his career he's better off going to 2BL with Osnabruck. If he can impress there he could attract 1BL interest, plenty of GK started in 2BL.

Maybe Hertha get a buyback clause and see how he develops in the next 2 seasons. Jarstein is signed until 2021, besides based on reports from Summer, they seem to like Smarsch. There were reports that they won't renew Kraft's expiring 2019 contract and that Smarsch would move to 2nd GK to later on take over from Jarstein. Although it seems like Klinsmann jr if they renew his contract could be competition for future #1.

here's what Bild said over the Summer
The plan: In one year, the contract of Thomas Kraft (29), Hertha's number two, expires. Smarsch should then take over the post.

also I think Korber deserves U21 call up in Summer along with Nubel and F.Muller (when fit). Schubert as a 98 can get call ups to the next cycle.

in the Eredivisie, would be surprising if any of the 3 GKs ever play for Germany NT. Even if all 3 are #1 at their clubs.

Unnerstall-VVV's #1 although was bought by PSV.
    Blaswich-Heracles #1
    Wellenreuther-Willem II #1

there is also the young 00-Novakovic in Roda who seems to have gotten tons of playing time recently in 2nd division and even Cup vs Ajax. But he might end up playing with Serbia, was called up in June for a friendly for Serbia U19.

another 1BL GK going on loan to the bottom of 2BL.

makes sense for him since he's the 3rd GK after Trapp and Ronnow.

looks like Korber could jump to #2 as Kraft is headed out.

    Hertha GK update
Thomas Kraft (30), the substitute keeper who lost his place to Rune Jarstein in 2015 after an injury, will not get a new offer after eight years. In the goalie hierarchy talents like Dennis Smarsch (19) have approached him. Kraft should not stand in the way of the development of the boys. Above all, Nils Körber (22), who has been loaned to Osnabrück, is credited with his role as Jarstein representative when he returns in the summer (contract until 2020). The talents: Spare keeper Smarsch is one such. As number three, the expiring contract of the 1.95-meter man could be extended. That would mean that the time for Jonathan Klinsmann (21) ends after two years with Hertha. Except for a penalty held in the Europa League 2017, the keeper could not advertise with the famous father for themselves. Although Marius Gersbeck is no longer talented at the age of 23, he rarely played for Hertha because of injuries and loans. In April, Gersbeck contracted a cruciate ligament tear - after previously other knee injuries. Whether he becomes old again is open. His contract expires as well.

looks like 98-Bansen impressed in a friendly vs 1BL H96. Played 1st half and kept a cleans sheet in what ended up as a 3-3 draw.

what is being said about him
It was especially the German third goalkeeper of Essevee, Eike Bansen, who managed to distinguish himself against his compatriots with four excellent saves.

It's interesting that in their Winter friendly
Muller played 1st half and Mainz were 2-0 HT.
Zentner played 2nd half and Standard Liege scored 3 for the comeback win

it's a shame that Fahrmann stays #1 by default. They are saying Nubel won't compete with Fahrmann for #1 until 2020-2021 season.

I think we'll see a lot of this as plenty of current 1BL GKs are only late 20s/early 30s. They got another 3-6 years easily which means all the younger GKs likely won't displace them until they are pretty much mid-20s. Or if they are currently more like 00-onwards GKs they could be more like 22-23 min.

Even F.Muller who made his debut at not long after turning 20 only did so because everyone else was injured which bumped him up and then when he was fantastic and impressed he became #1.

I'm still curious to see what Bayern and Dortmund do with Fruchtl and Unbehan? How do they plan on making them future #1 when these clubs want experienced players to take over the biggest clubs in Germany and ones teams are CL regulars. Fruchtl for one wants a 2BL loan in 2019. Seems more like if he gets loaned that it'll happen in Summer 2019.

at the end the best route really is the Kobel route which is to become #1 on loan in another 1BL club. That usually happens when GKs at lower teams starting making too many mistakes.

    speaking of Unbehan.

Unbehaun as a successor to Roman Bürki?
Among the greatest strengths of the talent is his responsiveness, with which he ensures spectacular parades again and again. Furthermore, Unbehan is very strong in one-on-one situations. He is somewhat reminiscent of Borussia's current goalkeeper: Roman Bürki, whom he will probably inherit in the long term. Another dimension of the 17-year-old is the game with the ball on the foot. He is considered a very modern keeper who brings great qualities in the game structure.

About himself, he recently said: "As a goalkeeper, I want to radiate calm and nerves to give my colleagues security. I am a "playing keeper" and introduce our offensive actions. Just as Manuel Neuer and Marc-André ter Stegen do. This is a requirement also for the DFB for goalkeeping. "The Borussia can therefore look forward to a very great goalkeeping talent in the long term the club remains.

Mainz has too many young keepers and something needs to happen to better disperse them. F.Müller, J.Huth, Zentner and Dahmen should all be playing regularly either on the 1 or 2BL level.

a lot of 2BL #1s have expired 2019 contracts with others with 2020. Does seem like Summer there could be openings.

as for 1BL a lot tougher and more likely for clubs who have had GK issues all season

Fahrmann looks to have lost his #1 to Nubel, this has been a bad season for him. Low was right not call him up even when he was performing over the years.

    Oversupply between the posts
Center-back Stefan Bell found his goalkeeper's performance to be very attractive despite the scene before the 2: 3. "Flo has shown that he is a very good goalkeeper, but Robin deserves to play as well, as we have been through in recent years, 'Flo' is unlikely to have so many games in goal ..." , joked the captain in the face of injury injury of Müller, Zentner and René Adler. "We have two outstanding Bundesliga keepers, Robin took his time to prove himself that he is a very good Bundesliga sidekick, as well as Florian at the beginning of the season, both are totally reliable and we have Jannik Huth and Finn Damen four goalkeepers from the own NLZ, that is outstanding, "finds coach Sandro Schwarz.

the list in La Liga (only counting league games)
    1-ter Stegen Barcelona 100 games
2-Bodo Illgner, Real Madrid 91 games (successor was the very young up and coming Iker Casillas, retired soon after)
3-Josef Elting, Real Murcia, 36 games
4-Timo Hildebrand, Valencia, 26 games (lost his place because new coach preferred another GK, only stayed 1 season)
    5-Robert Enke, Barcelona, 1 game

-ter Stegen won everything there is to win in Spain+CL
-Illgner won La Liga and a couple of CL titles.
-Hildebrand won the Spanish Cup in his 1 season

will be interesting to see which GKs in future go to La Liga, EPL or the very rare Serie A (are there any?).
