Yea I wonder why. He seems to get in most games at least. Although like Pulisic, it feels like McKennie hasn’t shown improvement since the end of last season :/. Hopefully that changes for both of them.
I’d almost rather be on the bench than apart of what Schalke has done on the pitch this season. I know they’ve been dealt a huge blow with injuries but they have looked awful - disjointed, undisciplined, tactically inept - and Tedesco has run out of ideas. His inexperience has shown. They need to make some moves this winter. It’s been no different at Augsburg today. It’s the same script. They are down 1-0 at half and have looked Ike garage. I would not be surprised to see Weston inserted after the interval.
Hadji entered the match at halftime with Schalke down 1-0 to Augsburg. He hasn’t touched the ball but more than once but you can tell with his off the ball running, his pressing and one challenge to win a header that he’s much more aggressive than his debut.
He challenged for another header in the box causing the defender to have a poor clearance and Caliguiri hit a beautiful screaming shot from 25 yards out to make it 1-1 in the 52nd
Good to see the manager has not completely lost faith in the kid. Even if he's in dire straights and that is the only reason Haji's getting a sniff of playing time the manager had other players on the bench he could've turned to including Weston. So good on you Haji!!
Hadji has had a couple of nice defensive plays on the wing - one he was wrongly whistled for a foul and another made a nice tackle. Schalke have been penned back in their defensive third and Hadji’s had has to track back and find the ball to win back.
Sheesh. Looked like Haji was getting some flack there from Schalke supporters for not running after that ball...
Schalke has tried to work the ball into the middle for Hadji on several occasions only to mishit pass after pass. It’s frustrating you can see the build up then stupidity unfolds. Hadji had a shot from the 18 which he skied in to Row Z but it was deflected for a corner. Decent opportunity. Commentator praised Hadji saying he’s done well since he’s been on a the pitch. I tend to agree. Much better than his debut
McKennie and Wright both on the bench. Wright comes on at half and sounds as if doing much better than during previous appearance. 1-1, 83'
F*** Hadji almost had the winner! Beautiful run and finish but he was slightly offside. Son of a bitch! Wow. That would have been a nice winner. Damn. Sooooooo close.
