Soccer-Talents says a '95 named Anthony, or maybe he's named Antony, Meckel is German-American. http://www.soccer-talents.com/Anthony_Meckel-3_7-42755-12.html https://www.rwrheinau.de/users/profile/31 https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/anthony-meckel/profil/spieler/278138
Soccer Talents says an '04 at Schalke named Miles Kappler is German-American. He does seem to be at the club. http://www.soccer-talents.com/Miles_Colin_Kappler-3_7-236585-12.html https://schalke04.de/knappenschmiede/mannschaften/aufbaubereich/u13/kader/
Cameron Sutton, mentioned a few times in this thread, has a DA profile that puts him in the States for at least some of the 2017/18 season. And, yes, he's a Yank. But -- where he is now, I'm not sure. http://efcw.ussoccerda.com/sam/teams/index.php?team=3939600&player=262334059 There is, however, a Cameron Sutton playing football professionally. Different birth year though. https://www.steelers.com/team/players-roster/cameron-sutton/
He played his senior season this fall, finishing as a regular and frequent starter. https://bceagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=10320
Transfermarkt says '03 Eintracht Frankfurt U17 forward Dzanan Mehicevic is a Yank. He's a club teammate of USYNT defender Mason Judge. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dzanan-mehicevic/profil/spieler/622399
he scored yesterday but how long before Bosnia go for him? Bosnia have "poached" huge amount of German-Bosnians in recent times. This guy doesn't seem to be German but it's easy to go after players who are like 2 steps away. I can't even think of a single relevant German-Bosnian who didn't go for Bosnia.
Interesting one, if true. A few sites have him as having been with another German club in 2017/18. I couldn't easily find evidence of him being based in the States recently. That might be the case if he were raised in another European country and German sites didn't have records of his clubs before coming there, but that's just a wild guess.
T'Markt says '97 Christos Wheeler at AEL Limassol is Cypriot-American. https://www.transfermarkt.de/christos-wheeler/profil/spieler/246619 Club profile: http://www.ael-fc.com/wheeler-christos/ Looks like a Cyprus YNT regular. https://www.uefa.com/teamsandplayers/players/player=250055839/profile/index.html
T'Markt says Team Vaud's '98 Lucas Pos was born in the U.S. It lists a birthplace (Irvine, Calif.) which makes me more inclined to believe it might be correct. I'm pretty sure TV is the reserve team of Lausanne Sport. https://www.transfermarkt.de/lucas-pos/profil/spieler/417895 Here's a mention from a match report last month. It looks like he's played for the top Vaud squad. https://www.lausanne-sport.ch/une-reaction-pleine-de-panache/
I think this one is going to pan out as American. I took a personal interest in this one as I have a Cypriot friend from college who married an American woman and they live in Limassol. I thought that might help the search (though it didn't really). Christos has his own personal Facebook page still and I found a direct relative listed who led me to an interesting character, Roger Lee Wheeler, who lives in Cyprus. He lists himself as a DJ, musician and tennis pro (ITF champion!) Can't find a more definitive link without some confirmation, but I think we'll find something eventually.
On the coaching front, we have long-time US resident Oscar Pareja (in the US since 1998, but no evidence of US citizenship) who has taken the Bazan brothers with him to his head coaching gig in Tijuana. Josema has been in the US since 1995; Fabian only since 2015. With Xolos an easy cross-border commute, perhaps they will finish up their citizenship (assuming it's not already done).
Some sites' suggestions that Gateshead FC's Tom Devitt is American are probably incorrect, though he did play college ball here. I suppose it's possible that he has citizenship thought I haven't quickly been able to support that.
I'm going to start collecting this stuff in a spreadsheet so we don't need to read this thread, which is getting long, to see all the "maybe" YAs out there. This will give people an easy-to-read list if they feel like doing some research and trying to track someone down. (If you confirm someone's YA-ness, start a thread!) I've kept the format simple but could add more if anyone things it's needed. Once we find someone, or find out pretty conclusively that they're NOT someone we should track, we can remove/update/etc, or something. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1e5EZmbH8CP0KF5suCCCHnYTNnoHmq0KzEEOrN-5G_ZE/edit?usp=sharing
Any idea who "Silvia" might be in this tweet?: (18 y/o) Silvia is a midfielder who has recently started playing games for third tier, Olbia Calcio’s U19 after problems with his player card. He has previously played with the youth teams of Juventus, Torino, Cagliari, Leeds United, and Sheffield United! pic.twitter.com/D4Fh1IYX7x— The American Scout (@american_scouts) December 16, 2018 It was retweeted by an @s.silvia10 which is also an Instagram profile. Guessing that Silvia is Stefano Silvia, listed as an '00 midfielder at the club: CENTROCAMPISTI: CANO Paolo (2001), CHESSA Gianmario (2001), CORDA Andrea (2001), DEROSAS Fedele (2000), FAEDDA Paolo (2001), MULA Giuseppe (2001), OCCHIONI Fabio (2001), OCCIGANU Gavino (2001), SCANU Gabriele (2001), SILVIA Stefano (2000), VACCA Efisio (2000) http://www.olbiacalcio.com/giovanili/berretti A player with that name was listed on a U12 team in California some years ago. http://www.coastsoccer.com/2011/P1652.HTM
As mentioned in the YNT forum, there's an '04 Hoffenheim U15 midfielder named Lucas (Lukas) Tamarez who has the US flag in his Instagram bio, which was tagged by Hoffenheim's verified account. Transfermarkt says he has German and Italian nationalities.
I don't know of any reason why this (German) article says English '98 defender Reece Oxford is American, but ... putting it here anyway. https://www.tag24.de/nachrichten/sg...sliga-transfer-west-ham-united-england-951517
