Atlanta United FC supporters are getting all excited about the hiring of Frank de Boer as their new manager. They think he will bring a brand of exciting football to their team. I let them know about how "exciting" it was to watch Ajax play for the six seasons he was in charge!!! They also think he will set up a good academy for them even though they have no concept of how Dutch youth training works. It will be fun to see Frank in action next season.

was just thinking whether peter Bosz would opt to raid eredivisie now that he has being appointed leverkusen coach. I must say leverkusen has young and talent squad like when he took over Ajax. Kai Havertz, Bailey, brandt, Bender Brothers, Tah, Volland.Given the quality of these players he should have a head start compared to what happened to him when he arrived at Dortmund. On another note he will have torrid starting of the new year as there they face Monchengladbach, Wolfburg and bayern in the opening fixtures.

This is exactly the wrong league and wrong team (other than maybe Liverpool) to go to. Dortmund of course will make a tidy profit as they always do with player sales.
We were at in-laws' house in Atlanta over the Christmas break, and the local paper had a big headline on its sport section about the hiring of FdB. They focused a lot on De Boer's accomplishments as a player (not so much as a coach). Genuine excitement on getting a big, branded name - understandably. I have to say the shiny Mercedes-Benz stadium looks very impressive, even from the outside. I must make a time to visit there and cheer on FdB this summer when we're back in Atlanta
