When will Marvin Ducksch's scoreless drought end? https://www.wz.de/sport/fussball/fo...iga-tor-fuer-fortuna-duesseldorf_aid-34586135 https://tbrfootball.com/linked-with...ch-is-yet-to-score-a-league-goal-this-season/
not today as he was unused bench player for the 2nd consecutive game. At this rate if FD get relegation no one will look to rescue him from relegation. it's interesting that he's only scored in German Cup this season with 3 goals in 2 games and those were vs RL/OL teams. wonder if Ducksch either found his level in 2BL or is he just the type that will end up performing the older he gets. His career is going downwards as we get closer to the break.
Energie Cottbus have a 2000-born striker Moritz Broschinski who played in a couple 3.Liga matches earlier on in the season. Looks like he's back with their U19. But according to his TM profile, the club is looking to promote him fully to the senior club in the summer. So he should play again more either towards the end of the Rückrunde or for next season. Who knows maybe another Kleindienst type player from Cottbus
1068864355004047361 is not a valid tweet id Off topic but Köln striker Simon Terodde has scored 23 (!!) goals in 16 games so far this season. pic.twitter.com/ZIBJ8eugbC— Bayern & Germany (@iMiaSanMia) December 1, 2018
Another good match day for Janni Serra at Holstein Kiel. I reckon even if they don't make promotion, Serra should draw interest from first division sides If Ginczek and stay healthy and score 10+ goals this could be a big season for him. Especially with Euro qualifiers on the horizon
an article on Ducksch and him having to be patient. http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...ucksch_torjaeger-im-abseits.html#omsmtwkicker looks like Hennings is ahead because he actually goes for duals.
Its concerning that Ducksch even though hes 24 still needs to work on getting involved in more duals which should have been a fundamental thing. And that's not even going into criticism of other aspects such as finishing.
Haven't watched much of Kiel last season because they weren't that interesting. Watched much more of them this season with Serra/Seydel/Morschel/ Awuku. you know I always heard that Tuchel wasn't a fan of Ducksch when both were at Dortmund and this type of thing makes me thing they could have been true. He only got 1 season in 1BL at Dortmund when Klopp was there only for him to get a loan and then spend another year in RL, which was Tuchel's 1st season at Dortmund. at least Serra seems more active from what I've seen in that regard.
Ducksch is also really skinny so looks like he never worked on building up his physique. He doesn't appear to advanced enough to compete either physically or tactically against first division defenders.
yeah he does look skinny/weak. Even in cup he's never scored against teams that weren't in lower levels. So doesn't seem great as of now vs 1BL defenders. speaking of Serra we actually got to see what he can do vs 1BL club. As he did score vs Freiburg as Kiel beat Freiburg 2-1 in the German Cup. Next up for Kiel in the Cup is yet another 1BL club in Augsburg. Good way to see how he performs vs 1BL clubs.
According to The Yorkshire Post, Ducksch was on the radar of Leeds and Norwich City, as well as Fortuna Dusseldorf – who he eventually joined. Ducksch has been a long-term target for Leeds, who sent scouts to watch him back in November 2017. The 24-year-old was prolific last season for Holsten Kiel in the Bundesliga 2, scoring 18 league goals in 33 games. FC St Pauli sold the ex-Borussia Dortmund academy graduate to Fortuna Dusseldorf but he has struggled with the step up to the Bundesliga. In 10 league games, the former Germany youth international has failed to find the net, although he has scored three times in the cup. Signing Ducksch would have been a risk for Leeds, given his lack of experience in England, and his struggles this season appear to have justified Marcelo Bielsa’s decision to ignore this deal. https://tbrfootball.com/linked-with...ch-is-yet-to-score-a-league-goal-this-season/
It was a good thing that Ducksch didn't go to Leeds. He likely would've ended up being like Polter, Hofmann, Srbeny and ironically Hennings
Wow the end of Ducksch at Düsseldorf? 4th game in a row where he was an unused bench player. Also considering they were at a point in the second half where they could have pushed for the go ahead goal when it was still tied
send him on loan to 2BL in Winter in anticipation for relegation. 94 is turning out to be a horrible year for strikers. Long Live King Holer!!!!!! lol who would have thought he'd be the best striker of his age group. Also never once called up by German youth NT on top of that. I don't see Philipp as a striker uptop. More SS/W. There is still Robert Glatzel who could make a jump after this season to 1BL. It's possible, would be interesting just to see if he can be decent or join the others as not good enough.
This seems to be Germany's dev. 87-Wagner, Hennings 88-Petersen, Stindl, Kruse 89-Schieber, such a bad year. And this guy was affected by too many injuries. 90-Hahn, Niederlechner 91-Uth, Ginczek 92-Volland 93-Fullkrug 94-Ducksch, Holer......................................Robert Glatzel and Srbeny could still make 1st team jumps. As Srbeny's Norwich are in 1st place in Championship although likely only to be a bit player and Glatzel could still be bought by a club, who knows. I separated the ones after to give them a bit more time. Not only to them but to other players who could still make 1BL in the long run that aren't included. 95-Selke, Weydandt, Kopke, Palacios Martinez, Kleindienst 96-Werner, Seydel, Platte, Waldschmidt.......and half this list in Seydel/Platte are injury prone Such a sad list tbh. Would be curious to know why Germany can't produce strikers? Too many age groups only have 1 relevant striker in the whole year. I do find it interesting that most of the list were never relevant to the youth NT, others who didnt pan out were preferred while others just played like 1 youth tournament and that's it or none at all.
This is pretty much why Low resorted to false 9s and 36 year old Klose in the past. And why when 30+ year old Gomez was injured there was no back up........Not saying most are terrible but they aren't anything to brag about. still hoping Selke, Stindl (can still be useful to buy time for players to breakthrough), Fullkrug and even Volland can up their game this season. So far Volland has done the best, with Selke/Stindl/Fullkrug all having injury issues this season. With uncertainties over Uth, Petersen,Ginczek who also have had injury issues....Recent players and their injury proness. At some point almost all the German strikers were injured around the same time. given Germany state of strikers, it's pretty much why any striker who pans out and produces for real. Has a pretty good chance to make the senior NT.And the bigger the talent the more likely you'll get chances to breakthrough. any really promising 98-onwards striker could have a chance to make the senior given the state of the competition. so what is best for Serra another year in 2BL or go to 1BL next season?
In terms of the NT it looks to also be the fault in lack of tactical strategy to implement a striker. When you look at other nearby nations like Switzerland with Seferovic and Austria with Burgstaller, I don't think those options are necessarily all that notably better than the likes of Selke, Füllkrug, Uth etc. Sweden even used guys like Toivonen and Berg who are awful for their clubs. But under the right system can be serviceable. For Selke's development, I think the years he's spent with Leipzig and even certain point of his time in Hertha right now have been unfortunate and inopportune. Thinking on a neutral perspective, returning to Werder probably would have been a better environment for him. But I think long term, Hertha expects him to be their striker for the future. So we shall see if he keeps up his part and delivers in the next season or two.
If there are 8 age groups and each pan out ... There are 8 starting strikers in the league n that’s almost half of Bundesliga . Since most teams start with one CF (of coz there are Frankfurt’s or Leipzig which play with 2 CFs regularly, but not the norm) , then u have Dortmund n Gladbach playing false 9s I don’t think any striker is realistic option for the NT right now tho. With Havertz improving his finishing n efficiency ( something he said he planned before Season began) , he can be a temporary option In 2-3 years, we can only hope Arp, Kruger n David Otto can make it Jesaja Herrmann is now playing mostly at the Wing so he scores less, but that helps Jastremski emerged (injured lately?). So there are good n bad Burkardt I don’t knkw where his best position is, he can play everywhere. Borkowski is growing physically, maybe around 185cm, n like Stindl n Musel... he can play all Attacking positions. Woltemade is always a standout becoz his exceptional size n aerial ability. Ware Pakia n Adeyemi we need to observe. I think Adeyemi will end up playing at the wing Gedikli remains the biggest striker hope after Arp
you don't think Serra/J.Eggestein could help out in 2-3 years? Malone could also get decent chances at Augsburg.
Ginczek continues to be in form scoring his 4th of the season to give Wolfsburg the 2-1 lead vs Hoffenheim Involved for both goals today. He also created the first goal as his cross lead the own goal by Hoffenheim defender.
I'm proud that Waldschmidt seems deadly in PK. Has that ruthlessness that too many recent players were lacking. Also scores his 4th of the season as he makes it 2-0 vs RB Leipzig. Petersen also scored in 1BL. While Kruger and lyoha both scored in 2BL.
