Im pretty sure that selling three key players in one transfer window after qualifing to CL and getting into last year semi finals has more to do with Monchi failed revolution then Roma financial situation.

Radja has not played in 6 games total, both league and CL, and 4 were due to injury.

He's played in 13 games he has 3 goals.

No, but we also shouldn't ignore that Monchi has wasted nearly 80 million on really stupid moves.

Schick is going to cost us 40+ million when all is said and done. To buy a young player that is already injured is malpractice. They need every minute of development when moving to a bigger club and Schick missed 6 full months. Add to that they tried to force him into a position that's not his natural position.

Defrel cost us about 25 mil. They bought him and just like Schick tried to force him into a position he doesn't play. Expensive experiment and destined to fail.

Karsdorp, just like Schick, buying a young player that needs development who is already injured (and who you know beforehand requires knee surgery) is malpractice, IMO. Karsdorp cost us about 15 mil.

Its one thing if you buy a player and he doesn't work out, that happens and nobody can foresee every possible scenario. In the instances above they were just stupid moves and not some unforeseen circumstance.

I definitely think it's fair to say that he's missed on more acquisitions than he has hit.

    Good:
    Under
    Nzonzi
    Kolarov

    Bad:
    Defrel
    Marcano
    Moreno
    Karsdorp
    Schick
    Biada

    Too early to tell:
    Cristante
    Kluivert
    Olsen

I would add Olsen to the good list and switch Nzonzi who is very clumsy and slow to the to early/bad lists.

We shouldnt be writing off schick as a "bad" move just yet.

Santon has been good for us thus far this season, while Zaniolo has been great every time hes been given playing time.

I think if you spend €42M on a player, given our financial state, he should contribute from day 1. Therefore you have to label it as a bad signing.

By no means is Schick a bad player, just think the signing itself was bad given price spent.

The only problem with signing Schick was not going full-in and getting rid of Dzeko at the same time

I'm kind of on the fence about Monchi so far. However, the above list is close to the most negative spin you could give his purchases.

I'd say a fairer way to look at it would be:

    GOOD:
    Under
    Kolorov
    Nzonzi

TOO EARLY TO TELL but seem most likely Good to Extremely Good
    Kluivert
    Zaniolo
    Santon

    BAD:
    Defrel
    Karsdorp

BAD but cheap so not much lost:
    Moreno
    Marcano

    TOO EARLY TO TELL:
    Cristante
    Schick
    Olsen
    Bianda
Pastore (on verge of going into bad list but second half of season will tell story)

People will find every and any reason possible to feed their "anti-monchi" narrative.

I'd agree with you if he was given ample opportunity to actually prove himself, which he clearly hasn't. How many starts has he actually seen at CF since his arrival?

Which isnt a bad thing, seeing as
how crucial Dzeko has been in our recent CL success

Seems like the English clubs may start a bidding war for Under. Rumored price is 52-55m.

This one is tough, he can take a game and turn it on it's head with a stunning goal, or go missing throughout the 90 minutes.

I guess I'd be ok selling him only if that money is spend on De Ligt or a quality CB.

Under’s former club has a big % clause in case he is sold, something to keep in my mind.

I think he should stay and focus on improving at Roma, but this doesn’t seem to be his wish.

I think EDF and Monchi at this point know we need a CB and realize we're not going to get a quality one in January.

So logically, the best thing to do is move back DDR and get another to rotate with Nzonzi. Thats what i would do because right now we're losing points every single game because of either Fazio or JJ and thats not an exaggeration
