Nice. Maybe native St Louisians? are rivals with KC and don't want to support them very much.

I think I've seen most of the best players from the '03 age group by now. Here's my best 23. Tried to leave out players I haven't yet watched, so I might miss one or two obvious additions. Only two players of those I listed I believe I haven't seen play yet are Reyes and Vegaalban, but I think I have a good enough idea about what they can do from highlights and such. Some of the players listed here were listed by me in the U-17 thread as players who should be playing up an age group.

    GK: Krenecki, Jones, Reyes
DF: Cuevas, Hall, Stroup, Che, Fragle, Ferguson, Gomez, Sorenson
MF: Casas, Chifamba, Pariano, Leyva, Nyeman, Sarver, Sealy, Aaaronson
    FW: Freeman, Pepi, Bohui, Vegaalban

    Krenecki
    Cuevas-Stoup-Che-Gomez
    Casas-Chifamba
    Sarver-Nyeman-Freeman
    Pepi

My "I've watched this YNT for 20 minutes and now I'm an expert" opinion is that Anton Sorenson is a really good left back prospect who will have nowhere to develop quite soon. He's a player that those teams that scout across the country (Seattle, Sporting KC, Atlanta) should be trying to snag. It's not everyday I see a left back in the DA and think he's an obvious homegrown choice.

Isn't he in the Crew feeder system? He plays for Crew Wolves. They send their best players to the main academy all the time.

The Crew have some talent in their academy. I'd like to see them start signing some of these players. Zawadzki and Keita should be signed no later than by the end of the year. Sorenson, Sarver, Chifamba, Hall. Thats some talent, but they might be a year or two away from being ready for pro contracts.

If the Crew exist in a year, yeah, which I doubt. I'm just hoping he ends up in a residency system somewhere.

Thought about it, but as far as I'm concerned they won't have close to the necessary infrastructure to become a worthwhile location for top-level prospects. Would rather he's with one of the established places with a residency program, USL team, and an idea on how to bring players through.

That stuff takes a while. Atlanta's unique in that their owner spent a zillion dollars on acquiring Georgia United, building out the training facilities, and starting a USL team. It's more likely Cincy takes the path of Minnesota than Atlanta in that process.

Unfortunately, you’re probably right. And if you are, I hope the talented kids find a better place to land. I just think the allure of moving over to the next local club is the easy route and a lot of kids will likely do that. That’s what happened when Chivas folded.

I'm not fully sure, really. It's not top of the line, but probably top 10, I'm guessing? Looks nice though, and I wasn't aware they had plans for that. Gives a little hope that they're planning on getting their academy up and running faster than I thought.

Here's some ridiculous ones if you're wondering.

Thanks. I only knew of a few really good ones, so I wasn't sure what the average facility was like.

Updated best 23 from the '03 year.

    GK: Krenecki, Jones, Reyes
DF: Cuevas, Hall, Stoup, Che, Ferguson, Kinzner, Gomez, Sorenson, Huckaby
MF: Chifamba, Casas, Pariano, Leyva, Nyeman, Sarver, Sealy, Perez
    FW: Freeman, Pepi, Bohui

I've only made a couple of changes from the June version.

    Krenecki
    Cuevas-Che-Ferguson-Gomez
    Chifamba-Casas
    Nyeman
    Sarver-Pepi-Freeman

Weak in net, CB's aren't great either. Very good FB's. They might rival the '02 fullbacks. Above-average in CM and the attack.

@ussoccer97531, have you thought of writing/publishing a YNT scouting newsletter? I know a bunch of folks around here would love to see something like that, me included.

I haven't. I don't have interest in that or the time to do something like that with regularity, but thanks for asking.

A really good attack coming together. Sealy is now the second leading scorer...……………..on the FCD U19s! 10 goals in only 8 starts. He's still raw, but he's starting to figure some things out at that level.

He was on the U14s in 2016!

Big fan of Sarver. Totally impressed by that kid during the DA playoffs last season. Haven't seen him for a full 90 since, but he was a total game changer for the Crew academy in those games.

#50 in this game against the SKC academy in GA Cup qualifying (October)

Here's an assist he had against the Rapids last week at the winter showcase.

My impression based on those short clips -- obviously not a lot to go on -- is that Sarver's technique is slightly above average while Wolf's [hair game is absolutely on point] technique is elite. Again, that says nothing about their decision making and 100 other things that should go into evaluating prospects, but technique is always a good starting point.

Sarver glided thru FCD U17 defense when he came on as a sub last year in the DA playoffs (FCD being the overall #1 seed at that level.)
Made it look effortless and easy. FCD defenders of some distinction were chasing shadows.

Sarver scored the winning goal in that upset. A memorable performance.
That playoff group had both the Galaxy and FCD in it with loaded teams, but it was the Crew that advanced. I don't know if they both overlooked Columbus or what, but I think the biggest problem for FCD was Sam Sarver :) On the actual goal he kinda whiffed his first shot, but then showed a lot of poise to regain control to slot it home. That was just one moment, he had several. This game was mind-numbing to an FCD fan. TONS of chances by Sealy, Gomez, etc. that hit the woodwork or were saved well by the Crew keeper. It just wasn't their day.

Looks like Richards that botched the header that set up Sarver's opportunity as well.

I found some more clips of Aidan Wolf on TDS. Kid is a player. Apparently, he was in two camps last year, but I'm not sure if he's an '03 or '04.
