No, there was a logical timeline in why it took this long. You may not like it, but it makes sense. I'm sure that they couldn't ID any foreign coaches with the 'pedigree and name recognition' so they went with the best available domestic and just waited unitl the end of MLS season.
You wonder if it would make sense to get a new, younger goalkeeper some minutes in a friendly. Just a crazy idea...
The USSF should take this run to the bottom to make a complete adjustment to game tactics and team personality. Instead of being a defend first team that bunkers, plays compact and looks to score on set pieces and fluke counters, we need to blow up the current tactics and decide to be an attacking team no matter what it brings. We lose 5-0 the next two years each game, who cares. Learn how to play attractive attacking football or shudder the program. Develop some swagger and attitude. Maybe have Dempsey be the team psychologist or emotional GURU. we don't even TRY to play at this point and that is absurd for a country our size.
That team is a hell of a lot more talented that this one. Pulisic is the only guy playing today who would have seen the field for that 2009-10 side.
A little historical perspective after the first half. I've been watching US-England friendlies since the early 90's. They have always been better than us, significantly better than us. We were more competitive in the 1990's than we are now. The gulf between individual players has always been great. We were more competitive, as a team, in the past. What I'm watching today is either the status quo between these two footballing countries...or worse. It has to be said that this generation of young England players looks particularly "sterling". But that's not the only reason the US looks so poor in comparison.
There was no process to id a foreign coach. Who was interviewed? The criteria listed mainly precluded a foreign coach.
Exactly. THIS was the game to play Adams ... not the game 5 days before he plays in the Conference semis. Just foolish by Sarachan. I would be pissed if I were a Red Bulls fan.
Horrible. He makes runs in behind, that's all he does. When he's caught offside, or has to combine, he offers nothing.
Actually, I think we should take the radical step of shuttering the program and rebuilding from the ground up. USSF has now proven beyond a shadow of doubt they are not up to administering this program.
WM has staked a claim on a starting role for me. He was one of the better players in the first half, and is key to our improvement in the second.
Can you imagine if Michael Bradley had given the ball away the way Pulisic just did and it led to an opposition goal? We'd NEVER hear the end of it. #ENGUSA— Kartik Krishnaiyer 🇺🇦🌻⚽️ (@kkfla737) November 15, 2018
