Chad Marshall stretchered off the field in Portland-Seattle Leg 1 Game. Went straight to the locker room, looks like his right knee.
Chad Marshall just got stretchered off the pitch in the first half of Seattle’s leg 1. It looked like a non-contact knee injury.
Also, Waylon Francis subbed in for Seattle before Marshall injury. Yep, Seattle used two subs in first 30 minutes due to injuries.
Drogba is actually still playing, in the USL. I don't know why an MLS team wouldn't want him as a late game, Alan Gordon type sub.
I believe he is an owner of Phoenix Rising. He wouldn't have any interest in playing for another MLS club.
If I'm not mistaken, Phoenix Rising does have an MLS bid placed. Drogba is one of many in the ownership group of the team.
I like both and applaud their dedication but long term late bloomers is not the recipe for club success.
GBS will have to wait 24 hours for Copa Lib glory. Boca and River was suspended today due to fan violence. River fans attacked the Boca bus, breaking multiple windows. Cops fired tear gas at fans, and then it filtered into the Boca bus. Multiple players taken to hospital suffering from the gas, and Pablo Perez sustained both eye and arm injuries. COMNEBOL and FIFA tried their damnedest to force both teams to play, even though neither wanted to. So, now, we'll try again tomorrow at 3pm EST (5pm Argentine time), with what, at the moment, will remain a game played in front of 70,000 River fans. Real black eye for COMNEBOL and Argentina. No wonder GBS is ready to go, as well as players like Valeri, Higuain, Blanco, Kaku, etc. Reminiscent of the Dortmund bus attack last year IIRC. They were forced to play 24 hours later, though it seems like all sides agreed weeks and months later that it was wrong to play the match so soon after. I think there will be a similar regret here.
This why I roll my eyes when people say North American (US/Canada) sports don't have enough passion. If this is "passion", I'll take a dispassionate fan base any day.
