As someone who didn't fully embrace Crew fandom until 2015 when I moved back to Ohio, Zack is probably my favorite Crew player. I named my account after Stern John but that's more of a historic love based on highlights I've watched and game recaps I've read (Thanks Sirk!). Frankie holds a spot in my heart but that's mainly due to his Brand Ambassador shenanigans more than anything on the field. McBride, Dante, Martino, Gaven, GBS and others definitely rank up there but like Stern and Frankie, they all have an asterisk by their names because I wouldn't consider myself a legit Crew fan until I was back in Ohio and watching/going to every game religiously instead of catching the box score online days after a game that I wasn't even really aware of was played. But I made my return to Columbus in 2015 and with that I dove right into Crew fandom. Attended a few games with friends who had already been going and decided towards the end of the season I wanted to be a STM. The 2016 season was a bit of let down after what 2015 turned out to be but I loved it anyways because it was my first full season with the team. With the bad results on the field, I started looking down the pipeline to see how the Crew would recover. The signing of Zack and his performances with the Riverhounds got me excited for the future. 2017 happened and with every game his legend continued to grow more and more. Then the shootout vs ATL. I didn't think that feeling could be recreated. But here we are, 1 day after Zack's Filibustering in DC and I can't stop smiling. Zack's most likely on to bigger and better things next year and even though that means his time with the Crew was short, I'll also associate it with the early days of my STM time and how fantastically he played. Those PK saves with replay in my head for eternity. I'm so excited to see him turn into the USMNT boss and take whatever European league he heads to by storm.
Words from Superma-- I mean, @zackstef_23 😁#CrewSC | #ClaimGlory | #MLSCupPlayoffs pic.twitter.com/I51MeIpL1z— The Crew (@ColumbusCrew) November 4, 2018 HE'S A BAD MAN!
How many more caps would he need to make a move to the PL? Could he reasonably have enough by summer?
Between Rooney and BWP, Zack Steffen is trying to single handily remind England who won the Revolutionary War. I hear he's going to continue that Reminder Tour across the pond next year.
O/T but his boy Ethan stepping up https://www.yoursoccerdose.com/2018/11/06/monaco-vs-club-brugge-highlights/
https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2018...effen-named-2018-mls-allstate-goalkeeper-year Crew SC's Zack Steffen named 2018 MLS Allstate Goalkeeper of the Year
The salty crying that Steffen won keeper of the year on the MLS page is hilarious. Yes it is a popularity contest but the players went overwhelmingly to Steffen. At least it is better than the All Star team and when really good players get left out of the likes of Pirlo, Graham Zusi and Jonathan dos Santos, I know we don't cry this much about it.
East versus West or nothing at all. ******** you Garber! Also, Zack Steffen is not of this world, and we are not worthy. He will carry Crew on his glorious back to MLS Cup.
No doubt about it. It will hurt to lose him, but at least we'll have a Crew legend to cheer for in the Premier League again. And a sh1tload of money we got for his rights. And a new ownership group. And new stadium construction. I feel better already.
I gotta figure being honored as the best GK in your league adds another million or so to his price tag.
Well, it's The Sun (which I believe is usually shit, Brits here can correct if needed) but if this is true, what a terrible move this would be for Steffen. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/7821...ollowing-claudio-bravos-season-ending-injury/ USA goalkeeper Zack Steffen a shock transfer target for Man City following Claudio Bravo’s season-ending injury
