Looking for new turf cleats and Dicks has exactly 1 pair for sale. You'd think that with Winter coming their stock would be a little higher.
The off-season indoor soccer demand is likely small potatoes compared to Fall and Spring outdoor turf demand, IMHO.
We stopped going to brick and mortar stores for cleats bc of that exact problem. Limited selection. I recommend looking online but would buy a brand you've worn before so you can get the right size.
It's not my ideal but it's the best store within a 90 minute drive of us. When you need something RIGHT NOW, you do what you have to do.
We usually order from Soccer.com but we had a Dicks gift card. Trying to save some $$$$. No dice of course.
That would be the only way to buy from Dicks. Try their online store? Never in-store. There may be more options online.
I don’t know what the OP was exactly looking for …but Turf shoes typically (ymmv) refer to no cleats/rubber soles…they are used on old school astro turf and various indoor surfaces…. Cleats are just, well, cleats (firm ground)… I don’t think most parents differentiate between AG and natural grass… I think most kids have two shoes in their bags…their “cleats” and their “indoor” shoes…what the shoe makers actually call them may vary…
When i say "indoor" i mean indoor with either crappy field turf or the new stuff with the cancer causing crumb rubber. The soles have the little nubs on the bottom. I guess indoor can also mean gym floor/futsal too which has no nubs on bottom.
check out the soccer boots forum, but the generally accepted nomenclature is as follows: indoors are flats for playing on hard floors and courts, turfs generally have nubs for playing on old school astroturf or crappy field turf, AGs are cleats specifically designed for newer style field turf fields. don't describe your shoes based on how YOU use them. describe them based on their sole and intended use.
In our area, we only have AG fields (and lots of it) and no old style turf. From what I have seen, turf (nubs) boots out number cleats on the AG fields. Seem to perform well enough.
Turf shoes on artificial grass. Wouldn't you slip? I'd look into AG cleats if you're playing a lot on new gen artificial grass: https://www.unisportstore.com/artic...guide-football-boots-for-artificial-grass-ag/ Can you get AG cleats in stores in the US? I always have to buy them online.
