https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2018...its-dire-arent-calling-playoff-chase-just-yet That's cute. TFC thinks they can make the playoffs.
Apparently Atlanta started a 16 year old homegrown defender tonight. http://www.espn.com/soccer/report?gameId=502417
Watching Union v SKC. Tyler "seeing double" Twellman used "Massive" about a hundred times. Hope he knows that using that adjective will get him throat punched if Texas gets another team.
The red card given to Deklan Wynne for kneeing Trapp in the back was rescinded. Interestingly, Liam Ridgewell of Portland was shown a straight red last night for pretty much the same thing. Wonder if it will stand?

Thoughts on the whispers of a US/Canada/Mexico super league down the road? Maybe after 2026? This is an unbelievably terrible idea. So of course it will happen, cause, ya know, $$$$$.
I don't know if FIFA will allow it. UEFA clubs have had the super league idea shot down plenty of times.
Tata Martino to Mexico, and GBS to Atlanta. I could see it.... Reports of Tata to 🇲🇽 as a “Done Deal”.. and GBS to @ATLUTD coming out of Argentina. Oh good more advertising. I guess Houston needs two advertisers. https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2018/10/24/mls-announces-new-sponsored-jersey-patch-beginning-2020
Is this the beginning of ML$ jerseys eventually looking like Liga MX jerseys? (Which are the NASCARs of soccer kits!)
I know they're not in MLS yet, but Cincy got knocked out of the playoffs yesterday by NYRB II 1-0, in Cincy. Time to point and laugh everyone. Best regular season record, and they uphold the proud tradition on Cincy sports teams from years gone by and throw it all away. They were lucky to survive last week against Nashville. That entire roster is gonna be discarded, except Adi and Alashe.
I don’t have anything against Cinci the city, and I pull for the Deads and Bungles, as well as UC and XU. I kind of thought the opposite. I wanted to see Cinci win it—at home (and against Phoenix Rising, my sister’s team). Maybe even in person. “The defending USL Cup champ” moniker would add more to the our rivalry, at least in the eyes of casual central OH fans. I still think my dislike will still stay much stronger for Ch!cago (and the NY and LA teams. And Toronto. And....)
Dunno where to put this. Will Zlatan win both Newcomer and Comeback player of the year? https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2018...ed-2018-end-year-award-finalists-are-revealed
Portland knocked Seattle out of the playoffs last night in PKs. They had more road goals in the series but somehow that didn't keep it from going to PKs. So two of the hottest teams entering the playoffs, DC and Seattle are now out.
Yeah, WTF? They were tied 4-4 aggregate, but in road goals Portland had 2 and Seattle had 1. Why exactly did they go to PKs?!
There were goals scored in the extra time that caused the road goal difference. MLS apparently doesn't count extra time goals in the away goal rule.
Right. Away goals is the tiebreaker until extra time begins. That’s so the lower seed can’t benefit from having 30 extra minutes with which they can score extra road goals. There were actually some Timbers players on the field that thought they had won the series after extra time because they weren’t aware of the rule.
That's the perfect reasoning for it. The extra 30 wasn't played in the first game so giving the road team in the 2nd game an extra 30 to use for an away goal tie breaker goes counter to having the higher seed be the team to host potential extra time and penalties.
Eric Wynalda’s house burned down in California wildfire He and his family are okay but all of the memorabilia from his career is gone.
