Before the game, I'd have been fine with a tie. After playing so well early in the second half, now I'm disappointed,

Yep. I was fine with Sarachan being hired as interim manager. I was fine with him managing for a lengthy spell, even through the actual World Cup. But the new manager needed to be put in place by September, primarily for your stated reason.

It's a freakin friendly....there nothing to loose. You don't need to protect a 1-0 win...let the hungry kids play and grow.

    The US coaches are clueless.

31% possession, 2 corners to their 6, and 5 shots to their 13.

Yep, we'd still get massacred in S. America.

they want to fight for their futures...they want to use friendly results to argue for the permanent positions ...its pathetic and insecure...and counter-productive

What a frustrating game. We had exciting young talent in there, playing together, finally gelling with each other, and scored a goal to take the lead. So we take them off and put on the veterans who couldn't even get us out of CONCACAF qualifying, who promptly give up a goal due to lazy defending.

We shot ourselves in the foot ... again.

I bet Ole' Dave thought if he could hold on to this win he'd have an outside shot at keeping the job. Lulz

Positives: Weah, Sargent, the starting midfield, the CBs. Long-CCV did quite well, all things considered.

I don't watch Yedlin a ton at Newcastle, but is he this out of control when he plays with them? He is positionally disastrous for the US, and gets away with it 8/10 times because of his speed.

Yedlin in Newcastle allows about 9 crosses out of 10.

They were not creative, but they did the job. The Bradley-Acosta duo would have conceded. The Marky-Trapp-Acosta did well covering the defense. It's something.

When is the US going put together a real competitive team on the pitch? So far every time I watch the USMNT, I see a different squad with no chemistry.

Let's not forget Cannon. He did well. I wouldn't mind seeing more of him and Long. I know, I know, MLSers, but IMO they did well today.

peru dominated the whole game with a B team , and somehow you guys are happy? LOL

I thought the us team was actually going to give us some trouble. Aside from desperate counter attacks , I honestly did not see anything in the US.

Peru was missing gallese , guerrero , farfan , carrillo , cueva , santamaria , trauco from starting line up . Yotun and aquino went in late in second half , advincula only played one half. Only flores and ramos played the whole game . We still dominated the whole game .

I can see a 1-1 with US dominating or giving us more trouble , but a 1-1 dominating the game , very poor from the US. Even the commentators were surprise at how poor this US team was today.

We put the same line up as we did against chile , it would've been easy game for us , even with the two stars farfan and guerrero missing

Looks like both Peru and US were experimenting hard this game. Peru just doesn't have legitimate backups for their starting midfield. They looked terrible. Same with their wings after Advincula left the pitch. Surprised the US didn't fare better. They look like the have very little chemistry.

Bold take: Cannon will be the starting RB for the US in 4 years, not Yedlin.

It was surprisingly not a terrible game, considering both NTs were trying new players.
