Compare and contrast the staid reaction in Austin when they got the news they were getting a team to the berserker, spontaneous celebrations happening in Columbus based on, for now, mere rumors that the team is staying. Dear Austin - good luck with that Precourt fellow.
A big congrats to the #savethecrew movement. We all did our share from the fans to local support trying to save our team even with offering free land. A great day for The COLUMBUS Crew!— Brian Schottenstein (@DaSchott) October 12, 2018
Drunk people hootin and hollering, stumbling around and slipping on a beer soaked floor? You can sell that as Frozen on Ice. **Edit** I am sure you could get a spontaneous round of "Let it go" going as a tribute to AP.
Jumping out of lurk mode. Good thing I didn't have any hearings scheduled in court today. I'm working from home, supposedly watching OVI videos, but really just going back and forth between here and twitter as my soccer loving son gets ready for his boy scout camping trip, waiting for something official so that I can tell him the Crew has been saved. We might have to bust out the Pikachu Costume for another trip to Mapfre for Saved the Crew Pikachu. I think Swenson's might be on the menu for dinner tonight. And beer.
This shared space has been all of our place. Even today as I casually scrolled through FB, I knew reading and posting here was the preferred option. @Ueberjames - If we got Swensons tonight that would be two nights in a row and three times in a week. To be true to this thread, I feel I should.
Several sources are telling me an announcement about #SaveTheCrew is imminent.— Ben Garbarek (@bengarbarek) October 12, 2018
Is there such a thing as too much Swenson's? I don't think so. Just have to mix in Salad Boy between the Galley Boys. A Salad Boy is health food, right?
To be clear, we still try to boo Don Garber to death if he ever shows his ********ing face in this city again, right?
From the "assistant editor and sports reporter from Crain's Cleveland": The rumors of Dee and Jimmy Haslam being in serious discussions to buy the Columbus Crew are legitimate, from what I've been told by sources. Details are still being finalized, but a statement is expected to come later this afternoon.— Kevin Kleps (@KevinKleps) October 12, 2018
Write for sports business journal: Breaking #SaveTheCrew news: a group that includes the Haslam Family are acquiring the Columbus Crew, keeping the team in the city. More to come in @sbjsbd shortly.— Ian Thomas (@byIanThomas) October 12, 2018
Announcement at 4:15: Sources are now telling me the official announcement about #SaveTheCrew will be at 4:15.— Ben Garbarek (@bengarbarek) October 12, 2018
