They had a pretty good match actually, especially JWY (excepted the mistake he made in the additional time).

Bento also thanked all the fans in attendance rather than expressing his feelings on the win.

Bento: It makes no sense to speak about JHS's past. I would like to say one thing: JHS has played exceptionally well in all 3 matches he's played for me so far. He's a player who makes the team's level higher. He needs to get more protection. He will become a very important player for us in the future. I am very content with what the team has shown, especially with JHS.

    He really said this apparently...

I haven't seen the latest game yet but what's wrong with it? It is a fresh start for everyone under new manager. In terms of approach/style, Jang HS is better fit compared to Kim MJ. At the same time, I do want to see Hong JH get his chance again.. even if Hong JH + Kim YG pair was full of flaws in the past.

On the GK front, am interested to see how Korean GKs will cope with increased touches on the ball. Their passing % is just as important as anyone under Bento... and except for Kim JH, most aren't very good with their feet (and even Kim JH has issues under intense pressure.. as everyone saw against Chile).

The Uruguayan team has been very classy during their stay in Korea. A lot of positive interaction with Korean fans as well. One Latin American team that I wouldn't mind inviting again for a friendly in the future!
Japan beat Panama, so hopefully we have a good showing against them as well.

Does "Chef" mean chef? If so, I like how they included his name.

Nothing wrong with his opinion, but if you hadn't noticed, 90% of Koreans and 99% of BSK community is against JHS. He may play well at times, but he fcks up every time when it matters. I am aware that we will stick with him until Asian Cup but I hope that on long term, KMJ will develop and take over his place.

Oh well but we aren't the manager. I don't like Jang HS.. if anything, I hate his guts (I made this clear over the years). At the same time, he isn't the only one who fcks up often (which includes Kim MJ). While I don't think Jang HS is good passer, he is better compared to most of his peers in KNT (except for Kim YG & Hong JH). Tbh, I'm even open to the idea of playing Ki SY or Jung WY as CB in Bentos current approach.. of which, I had preferred to see for a long time when it comes to building up from the back.

Btw, it wasn't long ago Kim YG received the same treatment as Jang HS by everyone, making the same argument against Kim YG.

I don't think JHS would've gotten this much hate if he hadn't been selected over and over again, despite his mistakes. KYG for example came back gloriously after (deservedly) getting ignored for a while. Same goes for HJH. He's not being selected until he can regain his form (atm struggling to play regularly on his natural position at Jeonbuk). JHS however, gets a free ticket every time under every manager. Others should also get chances.

Wrong spelling :p The Bayern boy is written like that. The one who scored today is written as Jung Woo Young.

I hate to be the one sort of defending Jang HS because I really do believe he is terrible player but as far as selection is concerned, Kim YG was selected over and over again as much as Jang HS. Remember, Jang HS didn't make the 2014 WC... while Kim YG more or less made every important tournament. Also, Korea has extremely limited pool of defenders. It is more or less same guys being selected since 2010. Few fringe players who were selected for cap or two but it is the same group of guys (tbh, in all position) since 2010 under multiple managers.

Because KYK issues were all mental. The talent has always been there.

Jang isn't a wall-like defender like Kim Min Jae, and I consider him to be a very average athlete. Jang is an overachiever, and I don't even think he's that talented.

The thing with defense is that experience and organization is more important than sheer talent. Jang has shown penchant for glaring gaffs but that was when the entire KNT was in shambles leaving him as our last cog in a shambolic defensive shape. I still don't really understand why but everyone loves this guy and wants to give him chance and chance. Maybe he'll calm the hell down and fit in a organized, cohesive defensive line like Kim Young Gwon did. It's not like we got obvious better options.

I've spoken out my opinion about Jang. Won't go any deeper.
On another note, as much as I hate to admit it, Jung Woo Young seems to be at his peak atm. I'm fine with sticking with him until the Asian Cup is over. He's confident and solid, despite being as slow as he always has been. I don't really think he is a good partner to Ki as both are slow, but atm he's the most decent option (still kinda hope Bento tries out Choi Young Joon)

is he? I don't think he is tbh... again, my opinion. he works for Jeonbuk/Choi KH in Asia but not much more imo. hasn't shown he is at U23 or in few games for senior team imo. if anything, his physical sort of reminds me of Kim SW tbh. strong enough for Asia but not much more... and technically, he is extremely flawed just like Kim SW (along w/ awkward footwork).

if the goal is to pair to start a rugged defender next to Kim YG or whomever, i prefer to see the new guy get a cap over Kim MJ.

KMJ defended very well today during his small appearence when he came in for KYG. And so far, he's been the only central defender capable of making Marcao ineffective in the K League.

i haven't seen the game yet.. but in full games he played, he had a mixed performance at U23 tournament. him easily getting brushed off by a player much shorter than he vs N Ireland is still fresh for me (of which, N Ireland go on to score the 3rd goal).

I saw a lot of Kim MJ during international friendlies, and I think he's by far the strongest central defender we have in our pool and seem to hold his own very well physicality-wise. I also don't want to use height/weight to support my opinion, but he's 6'2-6'3 180-190 pounds. And he's definitely all of that size.

Kim MJ isn't a good technical CB. He isn't going to be a world class passer like David Luiz from the back. He's surprisingly decent dribbler, but again, don't want him to dribble. But do I consider Kim MJ a wall-esque defender who can hold his own outside of Asia, both physically and defensively? Yes, and he's still relatively young at age 22-23. Unfair to compare him to a Kim Shin Wook.
