The facts are that we did not exceed expectations. As far as results go we were on par for what we could have expected without a Landon Donovan. We were below expectations for how we should play without Landon Donovan. With him we were expecting the very rare opportunity to make a serious run at the WC, and if we were going out in the round of 16 it would have been only after an extraordinary battle where we pushed the other team in all directions......and not the miserably pathetic performance where we made history by allowing our keeper to play Horatio at the Gate while other players let the Etruscans waltz by. Those are the facts.
It doesn't really matter that Conrad exposed Bradley. It's obvious that Bradley is politically protected by USSF which is why he continues to get called up despite his obvious shortcomings as a soccer player.
USA looked like crap in that WC. No possession. No shots on goal. Go look up the numbers. Only looked good against Portugal. Every other game with got out shot and out possessed. If wasn’t for Tim Howard, USA would have given up 7 goals to Belgium. They got out of the group but it wasn’t pretty to say the least and the group was overrated.
THe LD sacking seems to pit normally like minded people against each other. JK did his job. Jozy having muscles made of taffy and MB $hitting the bed for 300 straight minutes are not his fault. Could LD have helped, yeah probably, but so would have Boyd. LD had his shot and he chose to publically undermine a german coach at a crucial time.
1. early goal against ghana allowed us to play back. jozy tearing like tissue and no backup was a problem. 2. Portugal was the only match we needed to and could attack...and we did. Only Bradleys idiotic touch causes the draw. 3. Germany won the tournament. 4. We traveled the distance to the moon and back in 7 days, belgium? Something like 45miles. 5. In the real world, the world gets in the way.
Chemistry problems sure...donovan not being on the team wasn't the cause of those issues. read howards comment on the foreign born players. I can also easily argue that the 'chemistry problems' were mainly between donovan and JK and once JK was out things improved drastically.
and then bradley gave the ok to cut him...strange how things changed huh. also anyone thinking that an old and unfocused landon donovan was going to lead the us team in 2014 is making stuff up.
Landon Donovan was neither old nor unfocused as we prepared for WC 2014. Everything that has come out of that last training [where JK cut him] was that he was one of the top three players in fitness, and unmatched in focus. Pure BS, "a new fan".
A problem of Klinsmann's making: Johannsson was not fit enough to be considered. He should have never been in the squad. In 2009-10 Boyd was 19 and not-playing in the Regionalliga. He was actually playing with the youth squad in the Junior BuLi, and even there only as a rotation guy. In short, in 2010, Boyd wasn't even in the map yet.
yeah, Boyd was on the radar. JK brought him in. Besides, JK took Green, which means, young and unproven didn't matter.
37:20 (appx). Michael Bradley is required to go into space to receive ball, he even points that where the player should play ball. problem= Michael Bradley dosent run into the space. sums up the liability of MB90. wont change until Flynn/garber retire.
Landon Donovan should’ve been starting in the World Cup in 2014. He was better than Bedoya, Zusi, etc. It’s really not a debate or discussion. Then why did Jurgen Klinsmann bring them into camp and then cut him? What was the point of that? If he’s mine was already up? That makes no sense
Stop making excuses. They played like crap most of the World Cup. Awful. Because you have a lead, you sit back? That makes no sense. They weren’t good. Period
Michael Bradley never gave him the ok to cut him. What the heck are you talking about? You have no idea what you’re talking about. Do you know that when Landon Donovan got cut, right after he got out of the meeting, Michael Bradley was the first person to talk him because he was crying? You literally aren’t making any sense
Meh. If you've built anything or a accomplished anything in life then you tend to understand that answers are difficult to come by.
