Good grief. Acosta-Bradley. We're going to see a lot of lateral/back passing today. We may get the coveted 0-0.
Steffen starts! The only real surprise are starts for both Saief and Weah, since I would have guessed that one of them would have been crowded out in favor of Trapp.
Old bad habits die hard. What an abysmal central midfield. I'm not sure either individual in that pairing is in the top 7 or so in the USNT pool. Mediocre ball-winning, and going to have a hard time advancing the ball. Green is going to need to drop back and dribble thru traffic, unless Colombia makes a tactical mistake, showing the U.S. too much respect, and chooses to lay back. This is turning into a 451 not a 433. With personnel and opponent like this you're better off playing 2 fw's for the outlets. After a pleasant summer camp, it's been difficult to look forward to these US matches.
It's a friendly. Except for when playing them against Brazil, Spain or Ireland, we're awesome in friendlies. We scrape by with a 1-1. No one understands.
Starting mb and having him as captain at this point might be more embarrassing than missing the world cup.
Is there an actual pregame on? FS1 shows it listed now, but NASCAR talking heads still doing their thing...... /sigh
The only place I get the full pre-games is usually in the pirated streams in some non-English language (Russian, Arabic or Spanish, usually). Funny, no?
After the wc failure I said I'd refuse to watch anything involving mb, altidore, Omar, or Howard that isn't a send off match. I have no idea about TV.
So according to the dude on FS1, Gregg Berhalter and Peter Vermes are the 2 leading candidates for head coach.
disappointed that neither amon nor picault are starting...i wouldve liked to see an out an out winger or two on the field for once for the USMNT.... I dont think weah is a good option on the wing but we'll see.....
