Let me guess, at least two of the goals came from brain farts by the RB.

Brendan is unquestionably a CB but he was being played at RB because of how terrible their other options - all converted RWs - were. That coincided with a turnaround in form. First game with him at CB and they get their asses handed to them again. Doubt it's a coincidence.

You do know those are 2 different games? He started at CB in a 1-0 Belgian Cup win on Tuesday. Friday, he was a right back in the 3-1 loss.

Is he dual-eligible for Italy? Cap him now to avoid another Rossi situation.

I'd let Avenatti switch. Don't think he has the potential or leadership qualities to be a real factor for us. ;)

Bit of a side note that I hope doesn't cause any political squabbles...but when he first hit the spotlight, internet women were crushing on him HARD.

Makes sense. His only cling to Ireland were his grandparents. I get that Ireland needs players and maybe the native-born today aren't as good as in the past (same for the Welsh) but can get more and more confusing with them co-opting English-born talent. I remember Michael Parkhurst was actually considering playing for them for Ireland at one point and time.

But I suppose if Italy can regularly call-up Argentinians of Italian descent, then surely little Ireland can do the same.
