Coach needs to at least put him on the bench after performing like this. If Luca can keep up the good work he can definitely make a push for the Olympic squad or even full usmnt.

Vid of the assist. Excellent pass through the defense... Playing in his preferred #10 role and excelling

I'm all for raising the baseline expectation for what he can do this year. But when you're starting at "hopefully will get some minutes with the U21s," we should probably be pretty freaking thrilled with "8-10 first team appearances" rather than jumping right to "USMNT callup."

That movement in the box for his goal was fantastic. How he rode the tackle on his assist was also fantastic. I must admit, I've never been too impressed with LDT but this is good to see. Hopefully some EPL minutes soon!

Absolutely. Created space for himself perfectly. Read the play and calmly slid to an open spot that was easy for the wing to find him. After that, as long as his first touch was good, he was gonna get a good look at goal. And it was.

His pass on the assist was sublime.

This is all very promising but it's important not to read too much into it, either. I don't think he'll be starting on the weekend, but he definitely made a case to be moved up the depth chart. That said, we need to be realistic with our expectations. Big difference between playing Millwall and playing Arsenal.

Not sure Google is the most reliable on these things, but I couldn't find another source (WS didn't have detailed match info that I could find).

    Interesting where DLT lined up:

What I meant by keeping it up is by contributing to the first team and making appearances...

He's been "around" so long it's easy to forget he's still only 20.

Fair enough. Not targeted at you, just anticipating where these things usually end up going.

If he can at least start getting some appearances for the first team next year (or earlier), and then get consistent minutes next season we’ll fill the #10 role that we lack talent at.

Yes Pulisic could be that #10, but he’s a different kind of player that makes the runs that the #10 provides service to. Pulisic isn’t the service type of player.

I think we all know what you mean. I'm in the "play pulisic centrally" camp right now and would love nothing more than for someone to come lay claim to that spot.

he got called up already in June...it really wouldn't be that outlandish....(especially with the weah, parks, sargent callups)

besides, any usmnt player getting EPL minutes has generally always been in line for callups.....there havent been many (any?) USMNT players with 8-10 EPL appearances in a season who didnt get called up iirc.

(now what if we were talking 8-10 MLS appearances? yeah i would agree...although, i think now that the % of foreigners in MLS has increased and the level of play has risen in MLS, I wouldnt mind anyone making appearances in MLS being called up, either...especially at creative mid where the options are basically non-existant beyond 30+ year olds)

    Over or under

65 EPL minutes by Jan 1

200 EPL minutes by the end of the season

    Under on both.

More often then not a League Cup showing, even a really positive one, doesn't lead to EPL minutes.

He hasn't even been making the game-day. I'd be surprised if this changes the status quo too much.

Agreed he needs injuries as a path to the first team and/or poor performances from his competition.

Since first team time is unlikely I’m hoping he gets a championship loan during the winter transfer window.

I just hope he's not on the same trajectory as Hyndman... but tbh LDT has a higher ceiling than Emo. If he doesn't get minutes by next year he needs to GTFO of england and go to Germany, Holland, France, or Spain. Time will tell

Has it ever been discussed if Fulham were interested in loaning him out?

Millwall is not good but LDLT seemed to be a class ahead. A loan to a decent Championship team seems the next step. Prem-2 in the meantime with spot cup minutes is not bad. Prem-2 seems to be a place where you can get the experience necessary to start to compete at the Championship level.
