To @celito's delight, Real Madrid lost the Supercopa to Atleti yesterday.

@benni... Wayne does it again. He has clawed DCU out of dead last with a group of scrubs. They have about 2-3 games in hand still. If they can take 6 pts out of 9, they will be in playoff contention.

Having Diego Costa score two goals made it even sweeter . Atletico have a solid side.

Thats an overstatement. DC United is far from a team full of scrubs. If you look at our record you'd be ashamed, but we've had to play all but 2 games on the road. Half of the season the team has been traveling. They are already at a disadvantage.

As for the players, Yamil Asad has been very good this year. Lucho Acosta is one of the leaders in assist in the league. Darren Mattocks was scoring goals. Paul Arriola is a US NT player. Stieber has been fantastic. The defense is whats letting the team down.

I will say Rooney is playing good. He has boosted the team for sure. Especially Lucho.

Basically the same squad that finished dead last in 2017. Acosta was there the full year. Stieber and Arriola were there halfway through. Asad is a good signing, but only on loan. Mattocks has been a meh player throughout his career.

Nah. Those new guys had to.move to a team that was already dead. Consider that their bedding in period.

Mattocks was our top scorer and probably still is.

Also the RB and LB are new.

Figure we'll see Real end up in 3rd, especially since they didn't really get anyone to replace Ronaldo. Bale can probably elevate his play, but that really just depends on if he can stay healthy. As for Vinicius Jr, I think he'll struggle to adjust any may not even see that much playing time. We'll see.

Logic would say that's a good probability. But who knows. Last season Barca were supposed to implode in all competitions with Neymar leaving.

Douglas Costa lost his head today. Elbow, head butted, and then spit on a player . Amazingly only got the red after the spit. Wondering if he has some sort of issue.

Neymar was pretty bad. Silva was good IMO. Marquinhos isn’t a DM but I thought he did decently at it.

Firmino scores a lovely goal. Fabinho wasn’t on the pitch long enough to comment.

PSG ain’t winning the CL. Not like this anyways. They need a lot of work .

Marquinhos could work better as a DM but not with that midfield support. Not sure what was Di Maria doing as a mid. Their defense is constantly under pressure.

Still think Neymar is better as a winger who can occasionally roam .

Neymar still hold the ball for too long with PSG and had a Ronaldinho like attitude in terms of workrate but he also had no midfield.

Yeah I agree!! He's gonna have to leave and come back to Spain or either England(they may cripple him there!! LOL) but he needs to be challenged more!!

Guess who lost the ball deep in his own half for Lyon's 2nd goal against Man City ...

I give one clue, it starts with Fernandinho.
