Monchi v Matrim. Which pudgy little tomcat will triumphantly raise their dirty play-worn hand in the air by May.

Also sign Lainez now at any cost. He’s Ballon d’or level potential.

Why would FIFA have any say in this? In Europe wouldn't this be UEFA's jurisdiction?

    Pardon my ignorance.

After the last transfer window, I feel like the only reasonable thread title is "Too Much Monchi Business".

I have a few suggestions, actually.

    Moronchi-cadabra, Moroncheesy or Moroncha-ching

Patent-pending. All proceedings from the trademark would go directly into bribing Sabatini to help that Spanish hack to find some actual talent, before he runs out of Sabatini-brought stars the he could sell to Liverpool at half-price.

My campaign for Moronchipoly is the strongest though. I've even pulled off some mad Photoshop skills into the race.

    The bandwagon is strong.

A luxury tax would probably hurt us more than help, but it would be great overall for the sport. Especially in countries like Spain where there's such a massive difference in tv revenue between clubs.

Are they trying to kill everything good in this sport on purpose?

They're taking all of the free market's mechanisms out of this sport one by one. Putting a ceiling price tags on all world-class players would just mean that a club would be able to hijack as many of those per season as their budget allows, and Juves and Barcas of this world would certainly be able to afford buckets more than Roma. Heck, they'll be buying wholesale from Roma.

That's just another way of keeping the rich rich, and pricing competitiveness out of everyone else's price range. Extorting the rich for outrageous fees is the only way to keep them from saturating the market.

Maybe instead of regulating transfer fees they should regulate salaries.

Even if we offered PSG $1 billion for Mbappe he would reject it if we could only offer him $3 million in wages. Perhaps something where there are incentives for staying in your country and even mor for staying with your club.

Yeah RM/Barca/Juve/Bayern/ManU/ManCity/Chelsea/Liverpool will probably still outspend everyone in transfer fees but eventually there would be less incentive to leave Parma for Juve or Getafe for Barca.
