Goal scored by a player that plays in NY on 9/11! Plus his name is Adam and that is the first man and he scored the first goal... wow so much synergy!
I think Ian darke is drinking like that announcer in Major League

This is the 2nd time you said this. It was two foot dive over the ball into a player’s leg! That is obviously a red card.

It's weird when you take off one of your CDM's and put an actual LB, all of a sudden we look more cohesive when we push down the flanks???

    Must be magic!

CCV basically pushed him into the challenge on Trapp. The only clear studs was on the leg CCV came into contact with. I suppose it's still dangerous but Trapp sold it really well.

Random question. What's with commentators referring to "a McKennie" or "a Trapp" or "the McKennies" or "the Trapps"? It seems like this is a thing for soccer commentary but not other sports (that I'm aware of).

Sold it? His leg could have been broken, quite easily. There was nothing to "sell."

Didn't you see Canada's epic 8-0 pasting of the US Virgin Islands?

They're picking on our territories now? The Canucks have gone too far this time!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I'm hopeful at least one of Sargent/Weah develops into a legit international caliber #9

Green was basically playing an enganche-like role once he came on, and it changed the game, as did the Robinson-for-Lichaj switch.

If CCV wasn't involved there is no chance of him being remotely close with the right leg on that challenge. Stud were a bit high, but the challenging foot wasn't even pointed at Trapp. It could have been bad if CCV came into it with more momentum. I don't think it's malicious.

Green did ok. He is definitely a central player. He looks like he bulked up. Green has never seen a shot he didn't like.

    Much, much better second half...

For the record, I don’t want Sarachan to be the coach, but I’ll give him credit, he’s turned the ship on the USMNT. He does deserve credit for that.

Green was by far the MOTM. What I learned from this game is he needs to be played centrally, and centrally only.

Zardes and Trapp need to be worried as we need to be eyeing replacements. They were horrible.

Acosta wasn’t good, but he seemed much better when Green came on.

Weah turned into a good player when Green came on.

    Adams is the future.

Please let McKennie be okay. That said, I’d look for him to take Trapp’s role, which is what he plays for Schalke.

Miazga, CCV, and Steffen were outstanding.

Robinson was much improved. He still has some maturing to do but he’s clearly our best left back. Lichaj was disappointing on the left.

Moore was neither good nor bad, which for a defender, is good.

Wood is a step above Zardes, which is not a big step, and leaves us feeling desperate. Why no Novakovich?

The game changed when Green came on, but yes, after the red, Mexico folded. But to be honest, that was what like a Mexico u23 B team? That’s why the first half was so frustrating because that second half is exactly how we should have played the first half.

    Please let McKennie be okay.

You are a rationale poster so I just went back and looked at the replay on my 75 inch HD screen to see what I might be missing. CCV had the slightest of contact on his right leg while he dove over the ball with his left studs showing directly into Trapp’s leg. Trapp was not “selling” anything. I suggest you watch a replay before you comment again.

This team needs that... no one wants to shoot except for him and it forces teams to respect us which opens up space.

Spanish influence (Hispanicisms?). It's common to use articles with names when you're using that person as an example in soccer (the definite article is reserved for superlatives, as in "he's the Pirlo of this generation," the indefinite for a more specific comparison "he has the cross of a Cuadrado, of a Valencia...").

Fair enough. I only saw it live and on immediate replay. But it didn't appear as heinous as you are suggesting. I will watch it again.

Funny that, I didn't think we looked like having a clue about exploiting a numerical advantage. My biggest problem with this US side was a general lack of soccer intelligence; too much approximation, lacking the thought processes to create dangerous situations.

Terrible on the ball, dribbling into nowhere/dribbling into defenders. Failed to combine in the attack, failed to get a single good cross in (compared to Robinson, who got the assist and what should've been an assist to Wood in his first 10 minutes on the field).

Also almost gave the ball away as he screwed up a pass to CCV.

Black hole. Put in Lima or Cannon next time, please.
