No, you're confusing Ernie Stewart and Phang. Easy mistake, but Phang is staying in Philly. Earnie is the one who relocated to Chicago.
for better or for worse, hes our next Gooch. now im hoping we find our next Bocanegra to put next to him. Or Pope.
Blah blah Ian. ******** Brad Guzan and any over 30 veteran for this cycle, unless they are there for "veteran leadership" (rarely used sub)
If you really want to nitpick and assess the team, I guess you would have to concern yourself with the first half.
There is no crime in looking good up a man. Many times against this level of competition, we would not.
Pending McKennie's health, we're nearly that deep at CM. But my kingdom for a top-notch forward, though...
I can tell those players on the field a win doesnt matter in the big scheme of things. It was a garbage game overall, we got a man advantage and took a goal. Otherwise, its been pretty meh from just about everyone on both sides. That said Id prefer a win, just this didnt have an exciting feel.
until the 56th minute, that game was trash. After Green came on and Miazga threw a little attitude in it, it became a good result for us.
Not our greatest win, but we needed this, to get back into the win column (not going to have many chances to do that for the rest of the year) and to get back into the win column against Mexico. And we played WAY better in the 2nd half than the first, even before the red card. The first half was pissing me off.
Steffen (outside of his slip at the edge of the box), CCV, Robinson, Adams, Green and Weah were all pretty good in their time.
When he and Williams get healthy that position will look a lot better. Williams is one older guy I would consider giving significant looks.
And thus the USA becomes the only CONCACAF team to win a game during this international soccer window.
