I just think of full match against Sweden VS first 20 minutes against Costa Rica today. It’s like KNT on meth high or some shiet
Also, BSK is like a guy who’s afraid to date someone new because he has been hurt by his exes. A few traumatic experiences will do that to you LOL
I think its safe to say bento raised expectations from his debut. We shall see how his coaching team reacts when things dont go their way.
I remember in a Healing Camp episode (right after London Olympics) where KSY talked about how KJC was captain b/c he was a better choice. I forget what the exact reason he gave was, but I think he said KJC was better at looking after everyone.
Let's face it, in our minds we were suppose to be this: But for too long, we were this: Now we are hoping that our reality and fantasy will be one and the same.
Think he's talking about Jeong Tae-wook. Dude is tall as Kim Shin-wook, but he was useless against Kyrgyzstan. Thankfully, Kim Hak-beom stopped using him after that match.
I watched the game and I was pretty surprised how our fbs were really high up. I think Kim Jinya will play pretty well in this system. I was also surprised by the accuracy of the long passing by many players. I thought our offence was pretty good, direct and no nonsense. However at the second half, I felt like our defenders were making few mistakes that will be detrimental against a better team.
Tbf, KSY was subbed out and our double pivot was JWY and JHS. The defense would not have made as many passing mistakes out from the back if an intelligent midfielder was there to recycle possession.
I already knew how he likes to put midfielders + FBs high up when attacking so I wasnt surprised. But we had 7-8 players upfront while attacking, and it was very fun to watch. But there were a few situations where we got counter-attacked easily and we wouldve conceded if we were against stronger teams.
Great comments, clips, links. Good stuff gentlemen. Fun game. Saw the HLs but cream rises to the top. With less of the KFA corruption weighing down the squad, the players are able to play to their abilities and we were able to see quality on pitch. We should have had this base 4 years ago to build, test, strengthen and refine. Instead we had the shi4show of Shi2tlicke, and Shi3Taeyoung, KFA rot. That's said you can really see maturity in all players but especially Son Heung Min. He is heads above any other player on pitch against WC class opposition. He has that star player impact on the pitch that I've never seen in my football watching life. Maybe Cha Sr had this effect but it is mouth watering how dynamic Son has become and that we have Korean player of this caliber. Secondly, sometimes losing or being stifled results in swing of form. We are getting that swing with boost of Bento, AG win, reduction in garbage. But this is just the beginning. We need to bring in younger players and build team for Asian Cup and WC. We need to see Bento and players challenged and see how each responds. The bad news is I wonder how much KFA had their hand in squad selection. I dont know why Jang Hyunsoo is still around. Bento wants to win the Asian Cup so I dont think he's going to push back against KFA with player selection if KFA is indeed meddling. Looking forward to seeing how this unfolds. Exciting stuff.
I'm not sure about pushing the FBs up so high when we don't have the quality FBs who can take advantage of that. The risky is definitely there, especially since we also don't have a quality DMF (as everyone will agree that JHS or JWY are not it) who can adequately cover those vacant spaces. These are our two weakness positions in terms of available talent.
Michael Young-min Kim is one of the two Korean coaches on the staff. He is Canadian by nationality, played on the Canada U-23 team from 1991-1996 (age 18-23), not too sure about what position he played or what clubs he played on, but he did attend University of Louisville. This is what I was able to find online: 2006-2008 Korea Republic U-23 as coach and technical analyst 2008-2009 Korea Republic U-17 as coach 2008-2010 Manchester United FC as a consultant 2010-2012 Jeju United FC as a coach 2013 Daejeon Citizen FC as a coach 2014-2015 Daejeon Citizen FC as assistant manager 2015 Daejeon Citizen FC as caretaker manager 2016 Shanghai Shenxin FC as assistant manager 2017 FC Anyang as coach 2018 FC Anyang as assistant manager 2018 Suwon Samsung Bluewings as scouting director 2018-Present Korea Republic as coach
Too much, actually. Ppl have very high expectations for Asian Cup.. I bet they will turn their backs on him if we dont win it.
