I'm aware of why, it's just an odd setup for a company, isn't it? This report says that an employee may be leaving, but as you said, you guys aren't able to actually confirm with your company. You have to find outside sources to act as intermediaries between you and your company. Doesn't that come across as a little odd? I always thought it was weird that MLS reports rumors about it's own employees, too (not saying that this Adams reporting is anything close to a rumor). All of it seems just a little backwards.
You should see it as a good thing, since it suggests pretty strongly that the league isn't controlling what gets written on the site. If it did, either there wouldn't be any need for this "six sources tell us" stuff, or it would have just killed a story that it clearly didn't want to talk about.
Not really. At the end of the day its still a news site. So the structure makes sense. I mean, I doubt that Roger Goodell is giving daily press briefings to the beat writers for NFL.com.
Reports out of Germany indicating that Adams could be last minute signing for RBL; Adams wants to go but is hesitant to leave NY at this point in the season https://rotebrauseblogger.de/2018/08/30/presse-30-08-2018/
Interesting indeed. Does this strike anyone as being a situation in which he doesn't feel good about torpedoing RB's chances so close to the playoffs ... ie a "loyalty" situation? He needs to make the best choice for himself here. Things can change in an instant.
It's best for him if he goes. It's, obviously, best for RBNY if he stays. But RBNY is part of a bigger family. I wonder who has the final call here.
I'm sure he has the final call. I would vote for going. Like ESQ mentioned, things could change in an instant. He is in great form, at the best time to make a statement for himself. His game has elevated and I think he will make a seemless transition. I'm also a Red Bulls NY fan. He will be missed, but they picked up a couple of midfielders recently either to take his spot or cover for injuries. Whatever, RBNY will be OK. Good Luck to this guy.
If he’s going to go he should go now. He’s far more seasoned than the Leipzig players coming back from the offseason but not sure if Leipzig will think he’s ready. If he goes during the winter break he’s less likely to break into the first team.
Seems official: RB Leipzig's Ralf Rangnick confirms that two new players will arrive in January: "The players have signed. We would have loved these players right now, but the clubs were not ready to hand them over now." Kicker reports these are Tyler Adams #RBNY & Amadou Haidara #RBS— Ronan Murphy (@swearimnotpaul) September 3, 2018
Good deal, if true. I was watching the Leipzig/Dusseldorf game yesterday and thought that Leipzig could use Adams' energy in midfield. He might not be safe enough with the ball yet for them, but I bet he would have snuffed out some of those Dusseldorf counters before they became dangerous.
Haidara is a midfielder as well? Anyone here know the current CM depth chart for RBL that Adams would compete against?
Germany does have a much longer break though and you got to think that Adams's versatility as well as energy would mean that he would be an immediate valuable addition coming off the bench. I think it's good that he's staying for all three entities. It's good for Adams to have the pressure of a playoff run as well as being NYRB's key cog. It's good for NYRB obviously and shows a clear path to Europe for any HGP that they sign. And it's good for RB Leipzig's overall relationship with the NYRB to let him stay for the rest of the season.
I agree. The winter break in Germany is almost as long as the summer preseason, so I don't think there's the same worry about breaking into the squad midseason like you have with the EPL.
Apparently, Salzburg's GM said Haidara would not be moving. Leipzig could override this probably but just something to keep in mind.
If he goes...does any other academy have two sales at the level of Miazga + Adams? Dallas’ academy is awesome, but their best products left for free.
I'll nominate DC for producing the most prodigies that didn't quite work out as hoped; Adu, Convey, Najar, Quaranta - woe to Harkes and Durkin?
Shockingly enough, Leipzig are currently 2-0 down to their Austrian (little) sister club Red Bull Salzburg. The coaches for RBL made 3 changes at halftime. Tyler outta be licking his chops watching them underperform in the midfield against an inferior team. Have a feeling he's going to compete for playing time very quickly.
