    Hey troll

We all remember what happend in Metz. Went there as a third choice goalie, fought his way up and became their first choice. That is what I will always remember Kawashima for, a fighter.

A fighter who assisted 3 goals for Colombia, Senegal and Belgium. He destroyed our dream.

Kawashima had some blunders during the WC, but to say that he destroyed JNT’s dream is overly dramatic, to say the least. The JNT did better than most expected, but ultimately they came home with one win over a 10-man team. The team will need to upgrade more than just goal keeping if they want to go further in the next WC.

Having said that, Kashima having a good season with his club should do well for the JNT. Even as he approaches the tail end of his career, he can pass on some experience to others, and, if he’s doing well at his club, maintain some heightened sense of competition for the position on the JNT with others vying for the job. It’s not like JNT has a clear-cut choice for keeping after him at the moment, so there’s no point hating on the guy.

Have to compliment him how he continues to manage to get solid jobs out of nowhere, and so far he always got more than decent playing time out of them as well. Goalkeepers have a huge disadvantage as they aren't exchanged as easily as field players, so what he's achieving there is pretty astonishing really.

True, it's all only his fault. He's your very personal Dreambuster.

Yes, this will be his 10th season in Europe.

Nagatomo, Yoshida, and Kagawa (if he stays in Europe this season) all will have their 10th season in Europe this coming season.

While Hasebe already spent 11.5 seasons in Europe, and if he finished this coming season he we will have 12.5 years experience in Europe (exclusively in Germany) as a player.

Okazaki comes after them with 8.5 seasons in Europe, while Keisuke Honda had 9.5 years in Europe combined with all the 3 clubs he played for.

    First bench start for him:

He has been playing some games for Strasbourg’s reserves in the French third division. Last time he started for the reserves was last week, he kept a clean-sheet as the team won and moved to the second place of the table.

Kawashima has been starting the preseason matches and is reportedly the presumptive starter in goal going into Strasbourg’s Ligue 1 opener.
