At least financially, but given the money available to the top clubs for players and salaries, probably also in a sporting fashion. We arenot able to pay top players what the Turkish top teams can.
A couple of high profile players have left Turkish teams in the last year because of the deteriorating political situation (Mario Gomez was one). I wonder if this will have an impact on recruiting players.
6 month loan with the option to buy. They probably want to see how he can manage in the league and CL. The plus side of it is he obviously will be starting, so it's up to him. Has he the self confidence Lozano had?

Strong display by PSV today all around. Bergwijn had a nice game, he could/should have had a hattrick with a more clinical finishing. Nonetheless I think this year he will finally breakthrough the Dutch NT - his speed and ability to stay on his feet on challenges (due to low gravity) are useful assets. I also predict that Dumfries will get a call-up soon. An attacking-minded full back who actually tracks back and defends... that's un-Dutch , but badly needed. Luuk De Jong still sucks, but he was given the captain armband, I guess he will keep his spot for a foreseeable future.
PSV under coach MvB approaches matches differently than under Phillip Cocu. PC let PSV play cautious without much initiative in most of the matches. MvB on the other hand wants PSV to have the initiative and play dominantly. PC made PSV capable in winning matches even when they played very bad, so very effective, but often barely watchable. Scrappy match, but PSV managed to squeezed in. 2-1 final score. Credit to Mark Van Bommel with huge decision inserting teenagers Dante Rigo and Mauro Jr. when chasing a goal... the former netted the winner in the injury time. Luuk De Jong sucked, nothing new to report here... missed two clear cut chances with GK beaten but he couldn't balance himself and direct shots. Bergwijn almost scored as well. Stand-out performer for me is, once again, Denzel Dumfries. Built like a tractor and covered his ground well. Impressed with his speed and ability charging forward. One to watch for Dutch NT.
I hear they postpone the introduction of the new James Bond. It was intended to do that in 2018-2019, because it was thought we would be out of the CL, so no danger we could do the usual thing, winning the CL when the new Bond is there. But now we are in double force the bastards chicken out and delay it.
Easy win by PSV today. Willem II were actually quite competitive in the first 30 minutes, but PSV were too deadly... 2 goals on first 2 shots. Hendrix scored with an exquisite cannon, and Bergwijn followed with an equally sweet shot. After the third goal (penalty by Pereiro - helped by VAR), it was pretty much game, set and match. Bergwijn certainly put Koeman on notice, he was lively throughout. Look out for Hendrix, he's quietly putting together a string of nice performances. I see a resemblance of young Mark van Bommel… an efficient passer, a tireless horse, and a constant provocateur with his little pushing and ankle-clipping.
Agreed about Bergwijn and Hendrix. On the other hand didn't like too much Dumfries. Clumsy and clueless on the defensive side. I do liked Malen, He is still recovering his game but he is fast and skillful, good crosser too. Hendrix is just a little slow to react, not the most agile but he has a football brain and good technique. Let's see.
Big test for Van Bommel today! He said he would not change his tactics for Barcelona. Which I think is the right move... the team has been gelling for a good couple months now. I am curious to see how the duo of Hendrix-Rosario would fare in this match... can they neutralize Barca's midfield and stop the flow of the game? Not sure what to expect. Barcelona is star-studded. Messi and Suarez are no match for PSV defense. Zoet is erratic GK at times. Then there's the "Home" factor. I don't think it will be a heavy thumping (like a 0-5 defeat), I am hoping for a more palatable 1-3 or 0-2 or something along this line. Truthfully, just happy to see a Dutch team (and one more tomorrow = Ajax) to be back in the Champions League!!

MOD Note: We don't seem to have any PSV supporters these days. I changed the title of the thread to just "PSV Eindhoven" as keeping last season's date in the title was kind of misleading. Agree with @feyenoordsoccerfan that this will be a big game. Interesting that the teams had completely opposite experiences in the CL this week. PSV have an extra day rest and Ajax have two injury concerns (Hunelaar and de Ligt).

Comprehensive win by PSV yesterday. 8th win from the opening 8 matches. This one looked too easy for them. They didn't have to switch to second gear. Nice recovery from the disappointing midweek at UCL. Everybody played well. Lozano and Bergwijn were the two standouts, if I were to single out any players. Bergwijn had several strong dribbles and linked up nicely with his attacking peers. He could have had a hattrick - but ended up with two assists *only*… He brings energy and excitement to the game. I could not wait for his debut for Oranje senior. I do believe that he will need to be a much deadlier finisher to get to the next level.
Completely forgot it. PSV lost the Helmond Cup to Inter. How are we going to get it back? Inter facing AC Milan and Barca. If Inter doesnot hand it over to AC we might get it back if Barca takes it from Inter and PSV beats Barca in Eindhoven
Another routine win by PSV to make it 9 out of 9. Just like the match before the International break, I didn't the team broke much sweat. Everybody switched on and performed well, Lozano was the stand-out man for me. I also thought De Jong and Pereiro took their goals very well. Critical eyes would focus on Hendrix. He could (should, IMHO) have shown a red card following a quick two rash challenges. The first one was booked yellow, the second one (only 2 minutes later - what was he thinking?!?), the referee blatantly ignored. This was when Emmen only a goal down (within the first 25 minutes). Not that it would have changed the winning/losing outcome, but probably softened the blow. Bergwijn, to his standard, had a pretty average night. Except assisting for the first goal to Pereiro, he did little. Looks liked he tried a bit too much, or maybe was just maybe hangover after the international matches. PSV really turned up the heat in the league, but the real test is if they could re-produce the form in UCL. Tottenham Hotspurs next at home, there is never a good time to win a UCL game!!!
