Last match is against Paraguay. All the matches are available on YouTube
Seen the games. The Paraguay game was the best one, the others were quite bad. Japan dominated that game but lost it on a counter. Miyashiro, Sugawara, were really good. In the last match Saito of Yokohama FC surprised me: he has become a very interesting player. All the others were bad or disappointing or seemed nothing special. Also, Paraguay #18 was a monster imho.

Where is Hiroki Abe and Keito Nakamura? Anyhow, this the strongest squad I've seen from this generation so far.
This same coach (Masanaga Kageyama) has been leading both the U-18 and U-19 teams since 2017. He has already called Hiroki Abe and Keito Nakamura before, so if they were not called again, it's because they didn't impress him, or because he wants to test other players. Anyway, here are the players he already called and tested for youth Japan: http://www.jfa.jp/national_team/u18_2018/member/ and http://www.jfa.jp/national_team/u19_2018/member/

Actually I watched part of the second half of this match 2 days ago. Japan have a good depth in this squad, they can bring players like Abe and Miyashiro late during the second half to decide games.
Today's lineup vs Thailand: GK Tani DF Higashi, Hashioka, Mikuni, Ishihara MF Abe, Saito(MItsuki),Ito, Goke FW Saito(Koki), Miyashiro
They won 3-1 and secured the top spot in the group. First win to qualify to the QF. They will most likely face Qatar in the QF to secure their place in the U-20 WC (or either Indonesia or UAE, if Indonesia manages to defeat UAE).
Indonesia will be Japan's opponent in the quarterfinals, after they surprisingly defeated UAE. A win against them will see us through to the WC.
While Indonesia shouldn't be hard to defeat due to their comical defence, Japan shouldn't slack off either.
