Well, then I stand corrected. I guess Lee Seung Mo makes everyone look great in my eyes. One concern I did have with the FBs is that they're WAY too slow at closing down opposition wingers. I would say the RB had a decent end in dispossessing opponents though.
1. They looked very tired today, 2. they aren't natural fullbacks and had to play against real opponents for the first time, so they struggled. But you are right today they weren't good defensively. They are still better than any recent U20/U23 FBs we had (Remember Shim Sang Min?)
What really upsets me is how SHM turned his back during the PK and didn't even attempt to go for the second ball. LSW sprinted into the box right as HHC kicked it.
To be fair, it was Kim Hak Bum who should never have nominated Lee Seung Mo, a player without barely any match practice this season (played 2 games for Gwangju, was a bench member for Pohang before). Instead he dropped someone like Hwang Ki Wook who was an undisputed starter for Seoul.
i dont get it...@1:10 on the 2nd goal given. how does the GK NOT cover low and force the shot up. this gk is shellshocked...wow, what brain fart
Jo Bonfrère's football philosophy is still alive in our NT. "If our defense concedes 3 goals, our offense has to score 4 goals."
He reminds me of JSR. 100%. It took 10 years to get a good GK since LWJ retired. Please let's not waste another 10 years after JHW retires.
Needless to say, if we do end up taking home the gold, no one will be complaining about HUJ "not deserving" the exemption. Some others, on the other hand...
