Hat top to @Eighteen Alpha who linked this in the Sabbi thread. Adekoya is a fairly prominent college player and Seattle academy product. He was training with Las Palmas along with Sabbi, but is heading back to UCLA. http://www.tintaamarilla.es/noticia..._ya_tiene_plantilla_para_iniciar_la_Liga.html
Just signed a Homegrown deal with the Seattle Sounders. http://www.soundersfc.com/post/2017...ekoya-signs-seattle-sounders-homegrown-player
And now moves to the Danish Superliga with newly promoted Vendyssel FF: https://www.bold.dk/fodbold/nyheder/vendsyssel-henter-amerikansk-offensivspiller/ Seyi Adekoya, who has recently been training in Vendyssel, has now been awarded a three-year contract. According to the linked article, he also had a trial with Hobro.
He earlier had a trial with Hobro: https://www.bold.dk/fodbold/nyheder/hobro-tester-amerikaner-og-tidligere-agf-talent/
Played 29 mins as a sub in a 2 - 3 Vendsyssel FF away victory in Denmark's SuperLiga - 2 matches / 2 wins - on top of league on GD
I really liked this kid when he was at UCLA. Had a great sophomore season. Really not sure how he fell out of favor so quickly at Seattle but apparently he and Schmetzer didn't see eye-to-eye and Adekoya was sent packing. Nice to see him land on his feet in a decent level.

there's not much room for "unproven" players on most MLS teams these days...they either have a lot of hype via us youth involvement or high draft pick maybe or homegrown or were brought in from outside of the us basically..... the days of a college player working through the ranks to play in mls are not currently upon us.
Adekoya was homegrown. Played in the Sounders academy then signed from UCLA after his junior year. It's not like the Sounders don't have a USL team to play prospects while they develop to get MLS-ready.
which exactly my point! he never really played for sounders or got a chance with them...washed out hella quick...and now is playing first division in denmark. signing for a team? sure. but actually playing and getting a legit chance are two different things entirely. if they were the same the usmnt would have like 35 champions league players atm.
Adekoya was an unused sub yesterday during a 1-1 home draw. The week before he came on in the 48th minute last Monday in a 1-0 home loss to Aalborg.

record with Seattle 2 wasn't very good but still seems like a quick trigger for an HGP. at the very least seems like he's interesting to follow in a decent league.
He also clears the ball off the line on the second SonderjyskE goal, but his header falls to the SonderjyskE goal scorer.
