Why KHB used HHC, HEJ and SHM at the same time is beyond my logic. He should've subbed out HHC. Or if he wanted to use them all together, he should've switched to 4-3-3. But they were just standing around not knowing where to place themselves, because their main tactic remained to give the ball to the wing backs. There was one attacker too much, while we clearly lacked an additional creative MF like LSW (or he should've kept KJM who was getting more stabie).
Everyone besides SHM, HIB, HEJ (goal saved you) and KMJ should get a huge punishment. KHB deserves it the most.
frankly, atrocious defending + poor communication + overrated keeper. The second goal should've been stopped by Song. Terrible loss maybe this is needed to wake the ******** up lol.
I thought KMJ was ass today. I never rated him, not much different from JHS . Both cant pass / cross and both lose focus every once in a while
Here are a few takeaways: 1. KHB is still a terrible manager. Tactically clueless. Malaysia studied the Bahrain match and decided to press and control the midfield by playing a higher second line in the midfield. Meanwhile, KHB played KJM as a no. 10 in Hwang IB's position rather than in his natural position. He briefly corrected his mistake and just when KJM was distributing/circulating the ball in midfield, he takes him out for SHM. If he were going to double down on bbung chookgoo, he should just play KMJ as a CF. And then Lee Seungmo as a late substitution? Really??? Lol. 2. KJM - wow he was bad in the first half. Until he moved into his natural position, he was like a fish out of water. Which is quite concerning, because he should be able to play calmly in a more attacking midfield position at the U23 level in the AFC. It was Malaysia for ffs. Anyway, once Hwang IB came in and he dropped back, we started finding a rhythm again. [But, again, KHB pulls him out of the match.] He better shake off the bad first half, because we need his presence against more difficult opponents. 3. Players who haven't played in forever - there's a reason why they haven't played. There's a reason why they shouldn't have been selected by KHB. Lee SY? Yikes. Lee Seung Mo? Terrible in the second half against Bahrain. Invisible as a substitute here. The list goes on... 4. Song BK - that first goal... How do you lose a ball to a midget when you're that tall??? From here on out, Cho HW might have to just suck it up with the crazy fixture list. 5. HHC - he simply cannot score. I don't know if it's anxiety from Rio or the world cup, but he needs to see a sports shrink. Until then, he should be playing in one of the RWB or LWB roles if we continue with this 3-5-2 formation. Probably in the LWB role where he can still find himself in scoring chances. Until then, the three strikers should be SHM, HEJ and NSH. [Edit - now that it looks like we'll end up 2nd, who do we face after Vietnam?]
Just from highlights, looks like team was shell-shocked after comical early first goal. Seems like a weird one-off event given easy victory last match. But wake the ******** up!
It wasn't a one-off event. That's the problem... The flaws with KHB's 3-5-2 were actually exposed in the second half against Bahrain. It was stupid of him not to take PSH or LKI to this tournament. And it's stupid of him not to use KJM as a regista. Moreover, some of the wingbacks that he's using are clearly out of position or woefully out of form/match fitness.
KMJ had to do the whole build up for most of the time because the other MFs were unable to do it (especially KGW and KJM in 1st half). He did have some bad pass misses but mostly it was due to lack of options. Defensively he was ok and he even organised it decently, especially in second half. The two goals were 90% due to individual mistakes, so KMJ wasn't responsible. On another note, you guys are defending KJM because he played out of position, but his pass misses, ball losses and positioning play were awful. HHC gets all the hate again (tbf, he deserves it too), but it was our often-called KSY successor who should really get scolded today. I hope it was a great lesson for everyone.
Son Heung Min interview: - Thinks we lost due to the first goal and the whole team losing focus afterwards. - Thinks we needed to control the game but there was no player who could do that. - Thinks that regardless of who played, every 20 men should reflect together. - Feels ashamed by the result and though the team had promised that they wouldn't underestimate their opponents, he feels that they did today. - Thinks that the whole team felt arrogant and feels responsibe as captain. - Says that although the players are very young, they are adults and play for pro teams, so they don't need to be comforted. Has witnessed many captains in his career and thinks that sometimes the players need to get scolded rather than getting comforted. So he will 'talk' with them. - Feels better and hopes to play more in third round.
LOL even if we win the next match we will be 2nd of the group due to the unusual rules of AG (Points and then 승자승 instead of GD). It's highly likely to meet Iran and then Uzi. KHB fked up everything. Tried to rotate too early and now we cant afford to rest our best players every single match. And like I said before.. SBK is fking shit. I dont understand the hype around him.
Better to lose now then in the knockout rounds. This better serve as a wake up call to all of them. Do not take any opponents lightly bc anything can happen in tournament play. No better way to drill that into their heads than to lose to Malaysia now.
Kim Pan Gon should hire the Malaysian coach for Korea's team Tokyo 2020. Seems like he has more wit than Kim Hak Bum.
They shouldn't even be allowed to get exemption from the military service after such a pathetic display. Sure, KHB's moronic tactic didn't help. He should join them in the military camp, then. Losing against amateur and junior ASEAN team when you have players like LSW, SHM, KMJ and some others who do play in Europe, is a level of mediocrity that even Stielike or STY did not reach.
