He's started the opening two matches for Doncaster at right back. He can play left back too. A US-eligible '97 fullback starting for an upper-table League One club is worth keeping in mind.
Edit: actually, there's a chance he's not US-eligible, but still.

How in the world is this guy eligible for the US again? British dad, and Indian mother. Lived in Spain, Qatar, and the UK. He also said he'd play for England if given the chance, but that is probably slim.

His father was born in the US, so his dad is definitely a US citizen. My guess is that dad didn't live in the US long enough to pass on citizenship (like Dan Potts' dad). But we aren't 100%. I'm guessing, at this point, it will never matter anyway (unless he tries to play in MLS).

Not sure if this thread is still active, but Niall is now playing for Peterborough United in League One in England. From the stats he seems to be their regular Right Back as the team sits in 6th and the last promotion playoff place.

Just ahead of Lynden Gooch's Sunderland.

On June 9th, the League One clubs voted to end the season with promotion, the spots in the promotion playoffs, and relegation based on points per game. Peterborough United thus finish the 2019 - 2020 League One season in 7th at 1.69 points per game which is .02 points per game off of 6th and the last promotion playoff spot. The club's director of football, Barry Fry, was not happy:

"How the hell can you apply PPG willy-nilly without looking at the fixtures, and whether a team plays home or away?” Fry said. “It’s Mickey Mouse. There’s so many clubs in League One that could have gone up. I cannot understand how the EFL has come up with this solution and, most of all, I cannot believe so many clubs voted for PPG to end the season because it’s so, so unfair. We had one of the division’s best records at home and five of our remaining nine games were at home, seven of which were against bottom-10 clubs.

“I’ve been in the game 60 years – at Peterborough for nearly 25 – and I’ve got the greatest respect for our game, from non-league all the way through, but this is the worst day of my life because I think we’ve been cheated out of a place in the play-offs. I feel sorry for [the co-owner] Darragh [MacAnthony] and [manager] Darren Ferguson, who has built a squad and had a team challenging for promotion. It’s a disgrace.”

Mason registered 2 assists, and 5 yellow cards in 2,325 minutes (30 appearances including 25 starts) during the 2019/2020 League One campaign. Transfermarkt has him with 21 appearances at right back, 6 at center back and 1 as a defensive midfielder.

Mason picked up a yellow card in 218 minutes (4 appearances including 2 starts) in the FA Cup. Peterborough were eliminated in the Third Round Proper.

He also picked up a yellow card in a 20 minute substitute appearance in the League Cup. Peterborough were eliminated in the First Round.

Finally, Mason played 113 minutes (2 appearances including 1 start) in the EFL Trophy. Peterborough were eliminated in the Second Round.
