I doubt he will ever be a starter for ManU and he will bounce around the EPL just like Fosu-Mensah.

EDIT: ManU had a young American RB, Jonathan Spector some years ago when Fergie was managing. He got some action in FA cup matches but spent most of his English career at West Ham and Birmingham City before moving back to the US.

Mou never has a good record of developing young players. He just buys the "flavor of the day". Why wouldn't he? It's not like M.U is cash strapped.

Best case scenario for Chong is to have a sniff of first team football (a few cameo matches), show enough promises to get loaned to (and sold eventually) to other clubs, and re-build his career from there on. Hopefully this happens when he's still has young, and he's strong enough mentally to take the blow. Worst case scenario is to disappear to obscurity after a failed attempt to break into the first team, and never be heard again.

    That would be a first
Meanwhile in Bayern München's team the substitute robbed from Rotterdam and probable replacement of Robben scores against Paris SG.

Joshua Zirkee. Looks big, tall and muscular for a 17-year-old...

Fosu-Mensah set to join Hertha Berlin on loan, clearly he's not in Man Utd's plan anymore (which is surprising, as Man Utd backline is suffering badly from an injury crisis).

The long cruel journey to obscurity has officially started o_O Ironically, at Hertha, TFM will have company of other Dutch former so-called "wonderkids", Karim Rekik (ex-Chelsea) and Javairo Dilrosun (ex-Man City). Maybe they can daydream together what their careers would have been had they stayed home a few years longer.... Oh well, hoping the best for these kids, they still can make a comeback

Is there any outfield player other than perhaps Nathan Ake who left early and has "made" it. I only include Ake because he has played for the NT recently and Bournemouth is not really a destination club in England.

And which wonder kid has made it big from eredivisie.

  8. I already called these guys the GIG generation (do you remember Beenhakker's Patat Generatie?).

  9. Well, Strootman is on the verge of being sidelined, as Roma bought World Cup winner Nzonzi:

I guess they won't be going after Ziyech now. But maybe they have more money than I know about

They already bought pastore from PSG, and with cristane, pellegrini, De Rossi, Coric, the midfield looks overcrowded.

Tjaronn chery marked his Turkish league debut with the opening goal for kayserispor and again its hard to believe why he never got a shot at NT while Danny Blind was wasting time with klaassen ,propper. I still remember his Groningen days where he was on low profile just because he was not playing for top three. Hopefully just like vormer, koeman will give him the chance as well or have as a impact player off the bench adding experience and depth in the squad.

@wilson00 - He is 30 years old, does he really have a future with the NT?

The current generation is not doing any good either. Wijnaldum is out of depth come NT and others simply dont have the cutting edge like to that of chery. At best I would say rotate him with one of the young guys who has the potential going forward. If you look at that attacking midfield department there is absolutely no one who has nailed that position. You look at some of the up coming Attacking midfielders, Ziyech is out of the picture, ramselaar, Vilhnea, VDBeek, wijnaldum, none of them have cherys qualities.

NT needs some stability in terms of experience and new players going forward until such time there is someone who can show some thing different and better than what chery has. I cant see any player at the moment who could topple Chery or match his abilities.

If there's an issue with Wijnaldum on the NT it's an issue with the coaching/tactics. He once again put in an absolutely fantastic performance against West Ham for the season opener. He's extremely talented, has an incredible engine and can play almost any role from DM forward.

The problem certainly is not with Wijnaldum; he is our best midfielder by far and Chery can't hold a candle to him.

Maybe put them together and then let the dust settle. I will agree Wijnaldum is not a bad midfielder but playing in the shadow of good, better and best players doesnt reflect the true picture and this is clearly evident when he wears the orange jersey. This was also the case of Van der weil at PSG . The reason why I brought chery into the picture was simply because of his individual qualities as a attacking midfielder. Wijnaldum doesnt have the skills for a attracking midfielder. He is only decisive in the box. Look at Ruud Vormer, he looked more convincing than wijnaldum givens the minutes he played for NT but yet he is playing in a less competitive league than wijnaldum .

He is going to take over for N'Golo Kante!! Seriously though, other than some cup matches will he play at all?

Van Ginkel was under the knife back in July IIRC... out for 8 months. Understandably Chelsea could not offload him. If the timetable holds, he will be back in January, maybe enough time for him during the winter transfer window to secure another transfer/loan move.

I didn't watch the Liverpool game yesterday, but it certainly looked like that Virgil had an awesome outing and was named MoTM. Klopp even said that 75 Euro was a bargain considering VDV's overall quality and (early) return on investment.

DF Virgil van Dijk, 9 -- Obligatory autopilot display for the most part, as his brilliance stems from making it all look so easy. Met the aerial challenge of Christian Benteke head on, leaving the Belgian forlorn and flummoxed. Organising superbly during rare moments of pressure, he has improved the Reds at the back almost single-handedly.

Yep, van Dijk might be the best centreback in the world to be honest. The only thing missing is pedigree. The transformation at the back was also helped by Robertson and a new keeper but van Dijk was the biggest piece (literally).

Wijnaldum was also fantastic again. The two of them are very important to Liverpool.

I saw 1/2 of the match. van Dijk was awsome and I agree that he's one of the best central defenders around these days. Wijnaldum plays well for Liverpool but whether it is the trainer or the Oranje shirt seldom does for the NT. I would like to see a Liverpool/Ajax CL final this year!

  24. Rather see a PSV-Ajax Final instead. Meet them in the semi. Good enough.

Anwar El Ghazi has joined Aston Villa in championship on season loan from Lille. I was hoping he get more playing time but not in here. chance of making in NT might just be over for now.
