If the moderators would permit it, I'd like this thread to be a "sticky" to discuss general news and developments concerning the Seleção from 2018 onwards. The 2018 World Cup is now history and it's time to move ahead, with a Copa América to be held on Brazilian soil in 1 year and with 2022 World Cup qualifying to start in the later months of 2019 (if CONMEBOL keeps the current format). We do not yet know if Tite will remain on board for the next 4 years (or at least until the 2019 Copa América ends), and as such I left his name off the thread. O que todo mundo aqui quis infelizmente a gente continua querendo - o Hexacampeonato. Mas bola pra frente, porque temos muito com o que trabalhar e torcer.
Jo ruffling some feathers. Luxemburgo is simplistic in his prediction, we'll peak/win 2022 because we failed now, just like 90-94.

Could Brazil's midfield deficiency be aided by changes to the domestic league? http://www.espn.com/soccer/club/bra...cy-be-aided-by-changes-to-the-domestic-league
Let's call him up for the upcoming friendly @celito https://www.esporteinterativo.com.b...s-titulares-e-da-assistencia-para-gol-de-bale
A few days at Madrid and he has already learned to not let the hall get away Tá Hora de colocar o Neymar na geladeira ... já que a vida dele tá tão difícil ...
They are talking about El Salvador September 11 in Washington DC, maybe.... https://globoesporte.globo.com/fute...a-el-salvador-para-o-dia-11-de-setembro.ghtml @omajac
FIFA player of the year is different award than Balon d'Or. Frankly there is too much focus nowadays on these individual awards. So zero fuks given.
I don't find it surprising. The vitriol against Neymar this summer was on another level. Most of it deserved and some not. Maybe it will motivate Neymar. His shenanigans this summer aren't easily forgettable and his public persona took a major hit. As much as its nice to hope that some of these youngsters can step up it in 2018, I am not holding my breath on Tite/co to utilize most of these guys unless they really take the world by storm.
Tite confirma para CBF que continuará no comando da Seleção Brasileira https://br.yahoo.com/esportes/notic...-comando-da-selecao-brasileira-001916949.html
Now we have the beginning of the journey to 2022... 1 - USA on Sep 4 - watch out for a strong USA team - they tied France in friendly just before to WC 2018, and have this young Weah - plays for PSG, and son of the great Weah.. and other talented young players. 2 - El Salvador - a waste of money and time. Our players and Tite are still depressed by losing the WC in RussiaQQQQ
I AM ALSO STILL DEPRESSED !!! I spent 4 days after the Belgium game in bed. Let's hope for better times, but we just can't catch a fuking break.
It's now official; Tite has signed on with CBF for 4 more years. I defended this move before and I defend it today. We need continuity. Joachim Löw managed Germany starting in 2006 and Didier Deschamps took over France in 2012. This does not mean we must do everything the way Europeans do - but it does mean that changing managers any and every time things go south is not the way to go. We experienced this instability in 2000-2001 and while 2002 ended happily for us, the instability wasn't fun living through. Tite can and will learn (hopefully). No manager is perfect. Alex Ferguson didn't win every competition, but he evolved as he aged. We have a base formada, good players in every position, and some promising youngsters who will be in their early 20s in 2022. Copa América 2019 is approaching, and we must win this tournament given it is on home soil and given we have not won it since 2007.
Cannot just do away with the Estaduais though. Perhaps the big teams should be taken out of the estaduais and Copa do Brasil. This way the "pequenos" could actually win something once win a while and would have a path to Libertadores every year. The big clubs from Rio, SP, Minas and RG would only play the Brasileiro, Libertadores, Sudamericana and the Brasileirao could be expanded to 24 or 26 teams.
