500 thousand people in Zagreb on the streets. For information, the total population of the city is 700-750 thousand. The bus with the players is only now arriving at the main square- it's a slow drive when so many signatures need to be put onto shirts, scarves... Any Koreans in the city will have a memorable time of their lives.
Basically. To think France won the world cup with Giroud instead of Benzema... It would have been unthinkable in the past.
yeah he's taken a lot of criticism from even the FR fans but, truth be told he did create space for Griezmann and Mbappe. he sat vs the Aussies for eg, in their opener and they did not look like world beaters. whenever he was subbed out the rest of the tournament, his legs were spent - he put a shift in. sometimes he was lone up front, other matches he partnered Griezmann. but like @Hodori said, leaving Benzema off the team shows DD was never going to rely solely on his FWD's to score. and with the stable he has, would have been ludicrous (as we all know) had he done so. no scandals, blackmail or other on this team. crazy to think what their core can accomplish. maybe even rival what Spain's golden generation did.
Made all my Chilean, Sierra Leone, Colombian, Bangladesh, Peruvian, Guatemalan, Iranian root for South Korea with me when we played against Mexico at a Mexican bar for the WC this summer. Lol Brought out all my jerseys from the past
Both of Korea's goals against Germany made it. https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/8zpwft/top_10_world_cup_2018_moments_according_to_rsoccer/
Modric was told a boy with down syndrome wanted to give him a high five because he is his favorite player AND Modric pulled him up on the stage with them and had his arm around him thru the entire ceremony. Gave that boy the best day of his life. THAT is our captain 🇭🇷❤️ pic.twitter.com/j8FNjDWwmD— paula (@spaceypaula) July 16, 2018
I love how the referee kid pulled a Nestor Pineta, when he turned back to check the VAR one last time before calling penalty.
