It is a shame to see them eliminated so early, getting out of the group was always going to be hard but i was expecting a stronger fight.

There is much room for further improvement and they should continue to play more friendlies against elite teams. The GCC or Asia does not offer much competition, so when they reach big international tournaments their preparation will not be as good as it could be.

The team has for years been through a period lacking stability and patience when it comes to coaching. I hope this time they settle with Pizzi and start setting their eyes on the Asian Cup and long term goal of qualifying to the next WC. The domestic league also needs to be solved, as major teams are not allowing the youth a chance to break into first teams.

It's a shame because i think they had a chance to put Arab football on the map, let's hope they can draw or beat Egypt. They’re not a bad team, just in a WC, there isn’t much room for error!

Three games Three GK , this how keenly the team was prepared.
Yasser Musialem comes in for Owais, Moataz comes in for Bulaihi and Hussain Moqhawi in place of Tayseer Jassem.

Finally a win, but still a shit performance. Salem was going to drive me insane with his selfishness.

And then Saudi Finally Wins after 24 Years in a world cup.
Congratulations to Saudi Arabia and Better Luck Egypt next time.
Man of the Match from Saudi side is Yasser Al Shahrani, Salem Al Dowsari, and Abdullah Autef. Hattan also had a good though his finishing (shot at goal) was horrible.
Osama Howsavi should retire now along with Tayseer Al Jasim. Yahya Shehri should also look into other profession instead of playing football. Football commentator is a better option for him than representing Saudi Arabia.
Hope Betzi finds a striker for Saudi Arabia who resembles in playing like Qahtani, Malek Moaz, Sami, Majed... Find a mid-fielder who resembles Nawaf, Ithnian,... Though you have many options in defense where Jahfli, Hafith can come in as well.

Kanoo is not creative, he still needs time and needs to speedup his game as well needs to learn on how to be creative and create chances and movements... Ahmed Al Faraidy is far more better than anyone else and it was because of Ahmed Al Faraidy that Sahlawi was the top scorer in the league when Al Nasr when the Saudi League last time.
Also, Hattan Al Bahebri is young and should be groomed. Yahya Al Shehri should find himself a new profession and should leave playing football.

    Dumb.

    Trying to be America? :lmao

This will severly limit the local players since the foreingers will get the chunk of the money.

The more I read, the dumber it becomes. For new contracts (with minimum term of 3 years), there are 3 bands:

A (maximum 6 players), max 150k a month salary and 1.2m sign on fee
B (maximum 10 players), 100k a month salary and 1m sign on fee
C, 75k a month salary and 750k sign on fee

Here's the kicker, for existing contracts a penalty fee of 50% is charged on the players

Might be more lucrative now to go to europe. Wouldnt surprise me to see China eat all the Asian Talents or saudi players going to UAE leagues

Actually, Saudi Arabia are the shortest team in the world cup. I would also imagine we are the lightest as well, nearly all our taller players (Otaif, Al Faraj, Osama Hawsawi, Sahlawi) are gangly and rail thin.

    average height of world cup.jpg

This is the best decision the FA have made in a long time. Now Saudi players will have to get off their asses and seek foreign contracts, no more sucking at the teat of club VIPs and clubs taking on millions and millions in debt, not paying players (I swear, it's like every month I hear a Saudi club is being fined by FIFA or CAS for not paying wages) and just kicking the can down the road hoping some Prince will spend millions as Chairman to snap up and buy smaller club's star players and buy short term success.

Japan is only 2cm taller. Muawllad, Sheri and Hatan obviously deflate the height.

And the Japanese are also skinny. Very skinny. Its not all about physisically and athletic ability.

Motaz is one of the fastest and most dominant physcial defender i have seen in saudi defense history and he is rotting the bench.

Lol They will just play in UAE and other Asian clubs.

Obviously its not gonna affect the current deals but it should force players to move out.

I'm really intrested in whats gonna happen with Abdullah Al-Joei with Maritimo. Watched a few of his games last year and hes got an impressive run and read to the game. Too bad Mairtimo missed out on a europa spot.
