Seems legit, but don't know what Bulaihi is doing there when we got more experience in Moataz Hawsawi.

Owais is light weight & the management might me seeking GK who can jump & dive easily.

I would have gone again with Sehri though since Hattan might disturb the balance which has established between Sehri,Tayseer & Salem.

I am not big fan of him & he has not played games lately. Hussain Moghawi can do better job then him only if the coach can send Tayseer back to play in front of defence..

Agree on the first (he just doesn't have the legs anymore) and disagree on the second. Megahwi has been awful whenever he plays. I'd put Abdullah Khaibari and Mohammed Kannou ahead of him as potential replacements for Otayf.

If the line up is leaking hours before the match then what’s the guarantee the tactics are not leaked too ??

Had we performed 40% of what we are doing today the result could have been different in the first match.

Ali Bulahli is being starman so far. Hattan is shockingly playing well but we gave away a cheap goal !!

    Tayseer WC dream looks over

Despite blundering start to this tournament, the team displays a lot better performance that looks encouraging.

At least Ali Bulahihi, Hattan, Otayf, Muwallad are all younger and will most likely represent the country next WC.

Faraj is lazy. No need to call him up again.

All the GK are awful. Just play that GK from the under 18 and build him up leading to 2022. No point in Going with Owais.

Otayf played much better. Cut a lot of passess.

Hattan hold off play was impressive specially for a 5'5 guy.

    Salem, Hattan, Bulaihi, Otayf, Fahad

    Start a new Gen.

    No need for that !

Fix the administrative issues first !
    Make the players fit
No need to hand pick players only from selected clubs

Rest all will follow up !!

Remember not all big teams have a very good youth system !

I can sense mass naturalization of non saudi players from here on

Picnic ;) finished oops... this was a world cup... Dream Over.

This world cup is somewhat similar to 2002 world cup for Saudi Arabia i.e., lost first match with 4+ goals, 2nd match with respectable score of 0-1, and probably 3rd match will be a bit different in which, it can end in a draw if not a win for Saudi.

Find of the tournament for Saudi Arabia (who should be in the Saudi Team Building):

    1. Salem Al Dawsary
    2. Hattan Bahebri
    3. Fahad Al Muwallad
    4. Abdullah Autef
    5. Yasir Shahrani
    6. Al Bulaihi (he did surprised me by playing splendidly well)
    7. Mohamed Al Buraik

Good Players but not given chance to play in world cup:

    1. Mansoor Al Harbi

Players who should be dropped and / or get retired from Saudi Team:

    1. Osama Howsawi (he's old now and no more a player fitting the role, he should get replaced by either Abdullah Al Hafith OR Jahflee)
    2. Omar Howsawi
    3. Abdullah Mayouf (GK)
    4. Owais (GK)
    5. Yasser Al Musailem (GK)
    6. Taiseer Al Jasim (should get replaced by Ahmed Al Faridi as Faridi deserves a recall in the national team)
    7. Yahya Shehri (not impressive and lacks quickness and any creative passing)
    8. Salman Al Faraj (clumsy, lacks creativity and not so quick in passing)
    9. Mohammed Kanno (not impressive and lacks quickness and any creativity)

Players who should be getting some sort of grooming:

    1. Sahlawi (Should be given some tips by Sami Al Jaber and Majed Abdullah on how to be penetrative and keep eye for goal, and be creative if not able to score)
    2. Maghawi (needs grooming)

Saudi needs to find new Goal Keeper and can even look on all existing young goalkeeper who might be able to carry the responsibility.
Such goal keeper can be Al Sudairi or any other goal keeper...
I wonder if there's any statistics in Saudi League on how many shots were faced by a goal keeper in a match (for all the keepers) and what was the outcome, etc.

Also, need to find strikers and fast... who can be those apart from Sahlawi ?...
How did Saudi find below strikers and why there's scarcity of such strikers ?...
How can new be found or made within and from Saudi league ?...

    1. Majed Abdullah
    2. Sami Al Jaber
    3. Malek Moath
    4. Yasser Al Qahtani
    5. Mohammad Ambar
    6. Saad Al Harthi

What's the age of Naif Hazzazi ?... if he's less than 30 then probably he can play again for the NT for another 4 years or so ... but he seriously needs to be groomed and supported in getting his confidence back (by playing in big Saudi clubs), and also given ample playing time... OR Saudi FA should make it a rule that at least one Saudi Player in each positions of forward, mid-field and defense is a must... May be Majed Al Maena of Al Hilal can be given opportunity to play and develop his skills...

It is responsibility of each club and each former player to find a new talent ... Saudi FA cannot do anything for scouting young players, it's clubs and players responsibility to find new talent and groom existing ones.

Everything is found everything is scouted for but untill the blatant partial picking of players is not stopped from clubs nothing will improve.

The list is huge where you have mentioned Mansour Harbi.

Saudi NT does not lack good GK but lacks good eye to take the right player in . Am not biased here but either of Fawaz Qarni, Assaf Qarni and Ali Mahyadi could have done better job.

This will be Tayseer and Osama Hawsawi last WC and International game too.

I was wondering, why don't a Basketball player made a Goal Keeper ?...

Basketball players are normally tall, agile, strong, have reflexes, and knows very well on how to control and grab the aerial ball so why don't any team experiments in playing a tall basket ball player as a goal keeper and see how it goes ... Who knows, may be you will find a best goalkeeper in that way :)

To be honest, even I feel sorry that Saudi are out of the world cup after loosing the match against Uruguay but I don't feel the anger and anguish that I felt after the match against Russia.
Saudi team really played better in this loss and was a respectable and dignified scoreline (even though Owais should not have had been played in the team in the first place, he's not a good keeper at all, and he's over-hiked or overrated).

Look at the goal keeper of Iranian national team (i am watching the match between Iran and Spain right now), he's really an impressive keeper.
Also, the Iranian players are well-built and really strong unlike most of the Saudi players who seem like tooth-pick when playing against heavy, tall and physically well built opponents. Saudi FA should also ensure that each club provides body-building session to every player on regular basis.

Tbh the under 18 GoalKeeper for saudi looked better than all the goalies here. The one that plays fpr ittihad.

The problem with foreign coach they're in so much pressure to perform they are never comfortble to play young talent.

Theres some talent in under 20...like Alnajee etc.

Same with Ali Bluhai and Moatz and a couple others but yes in general saudi players dont have the needed physocallity.

Improved performance from the disaster in Moscow and a respectable result, so can't complain too much. But it was still a lackluster display, full of hesitancy and lacking in attacking threat. But I guess it's natural that confidence is down after the 5-0. Owais in goal was a mistake. As feared, he flapped around and was at fault for the goal.

One last game for pride. Let's leave on a high with a strong win.

Honestly watching all the AFC teams. They all look confident and competitive. Which makes all lf this even more dissapointing.

Its a shame after 5WC they havent fixed the issues that surround the saudis

Forget win, we need to score first which we haven’t since unknown number of WC games .

It's known number of games i.e., since last match in WC 2006 against Tunisia which ended in a 2-2 draw, Saudi Arabia did not scored in 4 matches thus far and conceded 11 goals.

In build-up for World Cup, Saudi lost against Belgium 4-0...
Tunisia is right now playing against Belgium and losing 4-1, so it seems that Saudi and Tunisia have similar level of football. The only difference is that Tunisia have strikers / forwards that match the european standards but Saudi lack any striking talent upfront. Sahlawi failed, Muwallad failed, Muhannad Assiri failed to impress at the world cup against pressing, composed, agile, tall, stronger and well-built opponents.
