name another Asian fullback who easily shut down Son HM on multiple occasion for club & country. ;) Uchida was class when he was healthy

as for Hiroki, great season in Ligue 1 but always a mixed bag with him. Gotoku & Kim JS aren't even worth mentioning... while Yun SY had potential but.. that's about it with him (injuries killed his career too).

Uchida was really class as far as I remember. He was also heavily influenced by injury isn't he? I think he had a very serious one which killed his Europe career.

It’s so lame there’s no Mexico match thread yet started

A few things on the wish list for this Sat early riser.

    1) LSW starts and is given carte Blanche
    Him and son actually
    2) 3-4 defense midfield ratio is highly favorable against Mexico so I hope we go with it. Shin decides to go with all out counterattacking football against
    3) we do not commit a haseokju leeminsung skeletor bullshit foul of the highest retardation in the opening 15 seconds of the match and play a man down the entire match. Which reminds me we had foods in here trying to reminisce on Skeletor. That’s when I knew the sh@t had hit the fan around Here. Had to be an all time low around here.

Nobody’s commenting on the number of fouls we committed against Sweden. That in itself was alarming. Add to that the quality of some of those fouls and it’s downright appalling. It shows nmanagment and coaching is pisspoor. But we all knew that.

I could easily see last weeks hero KYG barreling into a Mexican in the early moments of the match. I just hope he can reign in his anxiousness. He seems to have an inclination towards spazzing out from time to time

If it’s one thing that I cannot stand is when this team plays a man down. So if I had to prioritize not playing a man down is numero uno. It’s not like the odds aren’t already stacked against us, that we need to play man down disadvantage.

... And Korea hadn't lost their opening game since 1998. STY a record breaker.

It is not the coaches that are the problem. It is the Korean culture. Our mentality is one man for himself. A Korean boy is never taught to help others instead only think for himself.

What you are seeing is the negative aspect of the Korean culture. One only cares about his own success and not others therefore all Korean coaches will all fail.

    That's a quite a generalization.

I feel like if I re-wrote the exact opposite of your generalization, it'd be closer to the truth.

Exactly. Korea is a prime example of an inclusive collectivist culture.

In fact, it's an excellent basis for a team based on high energy output. 10 willing runners would trouble anyone.
