Regardless if SaveTheCrew is successful or not, the last match of the season at home will be historic. I think we need to start planning now. 1) Invite all the former Crew players who have come out in favor of SaveTheCrew to the game. 2) Invite all the media personalities who have come out in favor of SaveTheCrew to the game. 3) Invite all media outlets who have come out in favor of SaveTheCrew to the game. 4) Get companies to supply swag, drinks, food and heat (if it is cold) to the game. 5) Maybe a stage and a microphone. I am sure some people might want to say a few words. The sooner we start the easier it will be for people to ask for time off and start their travel plans. Let's celebrate Saving the Crew or throw a party everyone will remember.
Well, it will be the last home *regular season* match of the season. This team is good enough to get at least one home playoff match. But I see your point. However, what's the odds that they bring in security to prevent much of this from happening?
Unless this is all anti-climactic. The front office has been accepting season ticket renewals while promising refunds if a second lame duck season somehow doesn't pan out. With hints there might still be a move to a temporary facility in Texas in time for the '19 season. Austin is still negotiating. Suttle is threatening and Garber is hinting. Proskauer Rose is still stalling a court case that is still supposed to go to trial in the spring. The only thing that works reasonably well at the stadium is overzealous security at the entrance, which has a clear purpose of discouraging attendance. In short, what we mostly sort of expect to still be ongoing come November.
I am up for ideas. Besides inviting people, and the stage what else do you all think? Precourt effigy contest?
I'm bringing criminal tools so I can take MY stuff out of the ground. I'd take the Memorial Stones and Lamar too if I could
It may be time for a trip to Cbus. What do you say boys? @BrianDunseth @BMcBride20 @DanteWashington @EdsonBuddle @Chadini @tpresthus @Oughton8 @FrankieHejduk2 @wingert17 @Ross_Paule @johnharkes6 #SaveTheCrew @ColumbusCrewSC— Over Under Initiative (@OverUnderPlay) August 16, 2018 Send Kyle "socks always falling down and require being pulled up every five minutes while on the field" Martino an invite!!
It all depends. If it the beginning of a new era, maybe baby new year. It is the end then maybe a lumber jack in black.
I bike to work 14 miles each way. I really want the StC Pelatonia jerseys. What say you, @ohiotiger ?
You should work with #StC to get another batch made and sold in their store. I bet you could fund it through preorder. Throw in an extra $XX on the price and put it towards cancer research. Everyone wins. Those things are beautiful.
