Wow what an amazing result, Japan played so much better in the second half. Hopefully they use that momentum in the next game! Honda was poor went he came on, really sloppy giveaways that almost cost the team
Shoji proved me wrong, impressed with him. Didn't really fumble when in possession unlike in Kashima at times and managed to get to the ball during aerial duels quite a lot. Same for Yoshida as well. Japan defended the set-pieces pretty well, then again Colombia were a man down.
Osako read the comments on this forum before this game. What an outstanding game from the lad, capped off with a world-class winner. I am so happy for him and this team. Honda was still shit and almost lost us the game.
Im the first one to admit it. But I did not think he was that good in the first half. Missed chances. The swedish commentators could not stop praising him during the whole game! For a debut Shoji was good. And Haraguchi run until his feet fell off. This was fun
Inui, Nagatomo and Haraguchi were running the entire match. Hats off to them. Hopefully, Nishino knows how to rotate properly in order to rest the players in the three matches. I still hope Japan don't get their hopes too high much, Colombia were a man down within the first 3 minutes and Senegal and Poland are no push-overs.
What the hell did Nishino tell them during the break? It's like a different team showed up, with Honda then trying to sabotage it.
Amazing result still but it's not going to make people around the world sit and take notice, like when Japan played Italy in the confederations cup. A lot of their play was too slow with not enough movement or penetration, hopefully they can kick on from here, win is most important
Great win. Osako was exceptional in 2nd half. Also, 1st Asian side to win against South American opponent at the World Cup!!
Congrats Japan. Very happy for you. IMO you are the best Asia chance to reach the second round. Hope to see more victories from AFC teams.
Yeah this is so true actually, hopefully they'll get better now from this, I want to see more of that second half performance
