We need to put Firmino in asap.

Also don't see GJ staying as our 9 this entire tournament.

Argh, so frustrating seeing some of these changes- what was the point in wasting subs w/ changing out the 2 DM's?
Oh well just as long as its not a loss at this point...

Miranda is the man of the match for me, an absolute wall, impressive display. The goal was a foul and should not go against him.

the 30 min nap was too long, too early. The pressure that we're putting on them in these final 10 min should've happened early in the 2nd half. might as well pull back and secure the draw now.

Lots of disappointing details. We did finally wear Switzerland out but not soon enough to capitalize.

Poor refereeing too but, I'm not going to put the goal on him.

So much for "resting" players in the 3rd match. Now Brasil has to "work" it all the way through.

Is Douglas Costa still hurt? Could have used his "break'em down" play today.

That was a very bad performance. Almost no one leaves this game looking good.

    Very worried about this.

I’m not even mad or disappointed. Like I said before Brazil is usually very unimpressive the first game. Game 3 is were I rate our chances.

I thought there was a clear push into Miranda's back for the Zuber goal.
Why the feck do they even bother having VAR if they're not gonna use it??!!

I am disappointed. One of the worst games of the Tite era, right when it couldn’t happen.

I think this year could be the year of the underdog. Mexico, Colombia, Croatia etc. France has looked poor, Germany poor, Brazil very average after a decent start, if the trend continues this tournament is as good as anyones.

The only silver lining is that Germany shat the bed and put up one of the most embarrassing displays ever by a defending champion.

I thought the penalty on Jesus was far worse of a non-call than the push on Miranda. I think the push on Miranda not being called was more a result of the defense barely even trying. It made it look like nothing.

Spain lost the opener and won a World Cup. We reach a final after a poor opener against Scotland in 98. Until the favorites are eliminated I won’t rule out any team. I expect teams to improve as the tournament goes one.

In our case, I expect Tite to make some tactical adjustments and we should see an improved performance against Costa Rica.

I haven't watched all of the qualifying campaign and friendlies, so I'm mainly judging what I saw today.

Defensively the team was pretty solid and well-organized. Switzerland had no clear opportunities from the run of play. The goal came on a dumb corner with an arguable foul. Not great, but not overly concerning. The ball recovery and calm saida de bola from the zaga were highpoints.

I thought we lacked some creativity in the transition from defense to attack. Lots of missed passes. Has to improve. And, in the final third, I didn't see much special. Recovery of the sobra was good, and led to Coutinho's golaço. I liked that we tried to set up shots rather than just giving the ball away, but the passing needs to be more incisive. Firminho had a solid opportunity that he should've taken on his first touch. Also, Fernandinho's two long range shots were terrible.

The ref allowed too much tactical fouling and arguably also missed a penalty on GJ. Shit happens. Better now than in the knockout.

I'm sure something else will come to me as I digest. One thing to point out, though: all the pre-tournament favorites drew or lost their first game so far. We could've set ourselves apart but at least we came away with a point. Frustrating but not the end of the world.

    1. I think the Zuber' s goal was a mistake of Alison. He just stayed on the line.
The weakest links were Danilo, Marcelo and Paulinho. The substitutes weren't good too.
Behrami could have the red card.

Might have been unimpressive, but from WC'82-'14, 9 World Cups in which we WON our opening games!!

Marcelo one of the worst players on the field. Danilo a no show, but we cant expect anything from him.

Coutinho played well in the 1st, was a non factor in the 2nd. Neymar clearly not 100%. Willian was below what he showed in previous games. All in all, only Casemiro played great in my opinion. We wont win anything this way.
