The lineup vs Germany has been published. I wasn't that far off. Otayf is not injured after all: Mayouf Shahrani, Omar, Osama, Harbi Faraj, Otayf Yahya, Taysir, Salem Fahad Shame he's put Shahrani as RB. The right side is going to be dead. Check on to left, pass back. Check on to left foot, pass back.
This is a decent lineup. Ive changed my mind about taysir. As old as he looks sometimes hes the only guy that tries to attack direct in this team.
I suspect thats the intention. The pass backs allows for this team to hold possession and basically ddcrease the time of attack for opposing teams. Lol
Finally decent line-up to look for .. @PinoyMarauder - Yes,the tactics is same as you mentioned, to hold on the ball for longer duration and kill the opponent on break which is not happening . Final third still needs to be more synced
@PinoyMarauder : Finally agree with you on Sahlawi on being the playmaker . Tactically passed the ball to Tayseer in the pelanty shootout
First 5 minutes were nervous for Saudi Arabia. Germany score in the 7th or 8th minute but Salem Al Dowsay made a decent shot on goal on 8th minute which was caught in both hands by Neur but this shot increased Salem's and Saudi team's confidence. Yahya, Taiseer and Salman Faraj were slow in making passes when the requirement was to make quick passes. Also, Salman and Yahya were sloppy on 1 or 2 occasions on gift the ball to Germans by doing wrong passes or without seeing who they are passing to. Saudi Arabia played well overall and Sahlawi should have had scored an equalizer in the final minutes of the game OR Tayseer should have taken an aim on the goal himself as he was one-to-one with the goal keeper.
Even though Saudi Arabia lost the game by 1 goal (though Saudi should have had equalized in the dying moments of the game) but Saudi did scored a goal while the margin of defeat is not high hence, Saudi Team goes into the world cup opener with their heads held high as they played well against a team that tarnished them 8-NIL 16 years ago... so that miserable night is now part of past and Saudi team should focus on winning the opening game. I am sure Saudi can win the 1st match Insha' Allah when Saudi plays with same composure.
Last thing, Pizzi should learn to keep Fahad Al Muwallad for 2nd half and should start with Sahlawi. Also, Yahya Al Shehri should be replaced if he's not having good half. Also, Kano should replace Tayseer and Muhannad Asiri should replace Yahya since both players' height can give a lot of advantage to Saudi Arabia. Shahrani should play on the left, not right.
A respectable result and good confidence booster before the opener against Russia, but let's not get carried away. Pizzi finally played with the proper starting 11, which largely similar to what I suggested as the best lineup. I was doubtful about Mayouf, who was terrible against Peru, but he earned his place in goal. He was solid. Not convinced at all about Yasser as right back. The Germans were killing him. Switching him to the left and bringing Buraik on the right at half time was a good decision and I think that's how we should play. Yahya was anonymous in the first half. He needs to step us his energy. He only started getting into the game in the second half, probably helped by support from Buraik and a German team that was running out of steam. Fahad worked hard in the lone striker role but was frustrated. His movement was good, and got himself in good positions, but he was let down either by the pass or his finishing. He needs a good goal to get his swagger back. He would've tucked away some of the chances he missed in years passed. Would still rather have him than Sahlawi Tayseer was a good all rounder, surprised Pizzi let the old man play the full 90. I don't know how he'll last in the tournament proper. Otayf and Faraj were ok but still fail to protect the defence from midfielders overloading the box. The defence was never gonna be great, and the Hawsawi bros had some hairy moments, but at least they compensate with battling spirit. As I said earlier, Yasser is a liability on the right, but good on the left. Salem had a good game, probably with Mayouf the picks of the match. However he (and Yahya) were pretty guilty of taking too long to play the ball in.
Sahlawi should be nowhere near the starting lineup, he missed a penalty and a simple last minute score that would have lead to a draw. Regardless, i think this was a great game for the team as they gained a much needed valuable lessons going forward into the opening game against Russia. If KSA wins this crucial match, i can see them pressing through.
Is Saudi Sport TV 1 going to broadcast Saudi Arabian matches live ? If not, then which website is showing live streaming of Saudi Arabian matches during FIFA World Cup 2018 ?... Offcourse, live streaming should be free of cost as Bein Sports subscription appears to be expansive for watching the world cup and Saudi Arabia is not allowing Bein Sports to air the matches in Saudi.
Only Saudi matches will be broadcasted in KSA Sports. Rest you need to pay or search online or jump into cafes !
KSA sports haven't secured the rights from Bein, and it's looking increasingly unlikely. If you can get Bein somehow that's your best bet.
There is a discussion with FIFA about the broadcasting of the WC, its supposed to be announced today whether they have come to an agreement or not.
Nothing to update, it's not going anywhere. They can talk to FIFA as much as they like, Bein own the broadcasting rights for the region. At best, they'll mediate, but they're not going to breach the contract with Bein.
I've seen a predicting camel prediction on www.gulfnews.com. The camel's name is "Shaheen" and it's predicting a win for Russia against Saudi Arabia... I wonder what's its prediction ratio in the previous world cup to actually notice its prediction ?
Why do they have exclusive rights over the region? Could someone explain this to me? the only explanation I have is that we (and other Arab countries) have given up rights over our countries some years ago. A long term deal. Possibly for the financial benefit of someone. Whatever it is, its a huge mistake. Saudi Arabia is big enough to not just be part of a large geographic region whose rights are sold to the highest bidder.
