We should add a voting poll to the thread. Is that still possible? First we need to make a Choices list up, till now: Royston Drenthe Ibrahim Afellay Bruma That Ajax defender, forgot his name..
Davy Klaassen?? Bruno Martins-Indi There are probably some others who were capped for the NT and have underperformed since then.
He's still only 19, but Martin Ødegaard better start producing or he'll be the award winner in a few years from now
Bruno actually is doing fine in the epl. Klaassen I've a weak spot for as you know from my posts in his Ajax time. So on both I would say a firmly no.
He broke his foot and is out for the season. I don't think he ever plays for Madrid, and yes he certainly could be a contender.
I was surprised to see him playing for AZ yesterday so he's back in the Dutch league these days; on loan from Club Brugge.
https://www.vi.nl/nieuws/been-over-...n-hij-wel-naar-excelsior-of-de-jupiler-league It is hard to imagine how deep you can fall. For me Luc is the winner of the award in the season 2017-2018. He really should take notice of Mario Been's comments in the linked article. It isnot impossible to rise from the ashes, but there must be commitment, passion and the will to succeed.
just a random update here, but Freddy Adu himself just scored his first goal in 6 years while playing for the Las Vegas Lights in what is the de facto US 2nd league...
Ha ha, no man. I found your forum because I went to visit the Netherlands in April and wanted to go to an Ajax game (or any game for that matter, Feynoord weren't in town at the time although did spend a night in Rotterdam and saw the stadiu from the train!), so posted on one of the other threads here about attending Eredivisie games as foreigners. Turned out to be a worthy lurk-about... managed to attend Ajax vs Hercales, and found this Freddy Adu thread! Anyhoo, we also have a Freddy Adu thread too - https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/the-freddy-adu-catchall-thread.2000626/page-195#post-36701054 ..... and they get a kick out of knowing you guys have a thread in your forum named after our Football Manager legend... and following his career is a great geography-education.
If you have kids in high school you can tell them to skip geography class, and just start following Freddy around
Mmmm, Royston did perform before his RM move. That's why he got his transfer. TFM hasnot shown anything at all yet.
No iirc, but that was because of his young age and in his time the Orange team had defenders/midfielders playing for the top clubs. One of his Dutch coaches, I cannot recall who, told him he should drop the wish to be playing in the midfield and concentrate at turning into an attacking back. That coach told him in that case he could become as good as that Brasilian dude at that time (forgot his name). He didnot listen.
