No wonder Klinsmann brought him. All Green does is score goals against big competition. Not like the softies who could not score at T&T.

Julian Green is a good player with outsized dreams. The fact that he produced in his few minutes when the chips were down proves his inclusion was a good idea. Please don't take this thread "there".

to be fair he hasn't been able to see the ball at all, we are too deep in our own half. the great forwards do nothing all game and then score. he needs to be a forward and not a winger

I'm seriously not sure what people were expecting out of this game. At best this was going to be a "scared straight" game for some of our younger kids.

Prediction: We win this one 1-0, despite being outshot 43-3. Earnie Stewart decides that Sarachan is exactly the sort of puppet manager he needs. This is a sick world we live in, Brothers...

LOL, i was just thinking that.

Jurgen won all those high profile friendlies by only scoring timely goals late.

When you take the lead before halftime. The other team usually turns it up a notch and wrecks US in the second half.

    Halftime change:

    Sargent for Wood
Yedlin/Weah for Green - Yes he scored, but invisible for 44 minutes

We need more speed on that right flank.

    Our forwards had been invisible

I'm ok with our center backs. I'm ok with Zach Steffan. Our center mids are getting beaten by quality but that's to be expected. I have concerns about the defensive ability of both fullbacks, but I like Antonee's ability going forward, at least.

One more goal by the US and France is a lock to win the world cup.

Last time we beat a good team they won the world cup.

That's why I've always felt Green belonged in the squad. He's one of the few in the pool who can accurately direct the ball on goal.

Yedlin is a defender and that is it. Playing him anywhere higher than RWB is a huge error.

What happened to Kenny Seif? I know they mentioned him picking up a knock during the Ireland broadcast, but didn't sound serious. Any chance he didn't want to wear the rainbow? Grew up in a sect of Islam. Just saying

No one on the US side deserves any credit for that. Wood loses the ball, Shaq Moore wings in a cross that Green is nowhere near.

Thank God Sidibe was in place to receive that cross and set it up for Green. And Lloris, who was apparently taking a nap standing up to let that shot through.

If there were a World Cup of friendlies, we'd be the Brazil of it. Pentacampeões. But when we play games "for real" the brains stop working and it all turns to mush.

If I were France, I'd drop Giroud, move Griezmann to the center, and bring in Dembele. They just need to finish their chances.

Our 3 central defenders and even Trapp have been quite good defensively.

Green is an assassin, but that was a lucky goal because of Sidibe

Plus, I'm not sure what he's supposed to say, because I don't know that he knows exactly what his job entails.
