New young player for us. May his loans be productive.

U19's lost to Barca 0-3 in Nyon, Switzerland yesterday in the UEFA Youth League final. Great achievement to make it that far once again. At youth level, our academy is one of the worlds best.

We won 4-0 today away at Arsenal in the second leg of the FA Youth Cup and 7-1 on aggregate. That's our 5th straight! CH-O with a brace today as well.

    Well done lads!

Pretty remarkable stat here. In our run in the FA Cup...we scored 33 goals and conceded 1. 1 ********ing goal.

Jody Morris off to be an assistant to Lamps at Derby County. Had a great stint with the youth teams.

Big big blow for our academy. Thrilled for Jody though and obviously Frank.

i'm really excited to see what happens with those two and if they become a more permanent coaching staff (the moves together in the future). Morris has been outstanding at the youth level and seems to really have an eye for tactical setups. combine with Lamps playing experience could be a really good partnership.

Interestingly, JT is going there too and taking a pay cut. No idea what JT's plans are post playing career but I wouldn't be surprised to see him join the staff too.

It's the Frank, Jody, and John Show!

I know Terry has been studying, taking tests, etc. He's going to want his own job.

And I have to say, Terry being managed by Frank is...odd.

I am sure Terry won't be 'managed'. He will be part of the coaching team as well.

Totally agree with this. Think this is an on the job training thing here. Frank is going to need another assistant with strong coaching ties.

Alright time to get back on this so I'm not thinking about how poor next season may be.

Kenedy to Newcastle on a season long loan is really close. Like should be done today close.

    Jake Clark-Salter to Vitesse.

We've lost a couple youth to transfers Panzo to Monaco and St. Clair to Venezia in Serie B.

Monaco are spending so that means the Mbappe deal is going through. Wouldn't be surprised to see them go after a few more of ours.

    Jesus, this was buried.

Our U19 team advanced to the UEFA Youth League semi's after beating Dinamo Kiev on penalties today. We were down 2-0 and McCormick score two late goals to equalize. Think it was last season that we lost to Barca in the final.

Just worth noting that we have an elite academy and arguably the best academy in Europe.

It's funny because this season we have 3 players who came through our academy in the senior squad who play regularly. Funny that....

With a potential ban looming who from here can step up and make an impact.

The main talking points have been

    Tammy
    Mount
    Reece

Maybe Zouma and Michy makes a return (the latter less likely).

Any major players I’m missing that might finally step into the first team?

I understand the allure of this and the media has been running with it, as well. Chelsea have a huge loan army, so why not recall some guys as reinforcements?

I don't think it will be as drastic as what everyone is making it out to be. For me, if we do have the ban and no window for this summer and winter, the squad will look very similar to how it does now.

GKs: Kepa and renew Cabalerro and Green (both contracts run out June)

D: Rudiger, Christensen (2022), Luiz will likely re-sign a 2-year deal. Cahill will leave. Recall Zouma perhaps and get Ampadu healthy. Emerson and Alonso on the left. Az and Reece James on the right - and lots of signs pointing to Ola Aina coming back. I think Zappacosta will transfer back to Serie A.

Hector, Miazga, Omeruo, Kalas I dont think are realistic options.

M: Jorginho, Kante, Barkley are here. As is RLC. Kovacic will likely (hopefully) leave). Drinkwater will continue to cash our checks and not play. Maybe Mount can have a role in this midfield. Bakayoko was sent away by Sarri once already; his attitude is poor and had one good season whilst Makelele was up his ass in Monaco. He's not great, but he could be useful - Milan have a love/hate with him. Our midfield is dire. Pasalic and Baker would be interesting but not really an upgrade.

Pulisic could play in midfield, too.

F: I think Michy will be sold, though I think that's a mistake. Giroud will be here. I also think somehow, Higuain will also be here. Morata would be sold and then Abraham brought in as a third striker option/winger option. Pedro and Willian are here until 2020. If Hazard stays, we have him. If not, we won't. We also have Pulisic as a winger. And Hudson-Odoi

Our current first squad is 26 deep. Assuming we stay at that range, the players in bold are who I would expect to be in the first team squad next season, assuming a ban is upheld.

Edit: I think our starting 11 won't be drastically different. Our depth will, again, be very shallow.

    Kepa
    Az-Rudiger-Luiz-Emerson

    Kante-Jorginho-RLC

    CHO-Higuain-Willian

Bench: Cab, Christensen, Alonso, Barkley, Giroud, Pulisic etc.

Zouma simply doesn’t fit into our style of play. We’re also not that in need of defensive help - we’re generally fine there.
