I had it with Weah.. I know he is very young and can improve but he does not have it. He is going to be another Gyasi Zardes. Very good at the US soccer level but mediocre at world class level. He has good athleticism but does not have the "street-craftiness" that you need to become a very unpredictible attacker so defenders have to hold their position.
He suffers from the same problem Jozy had at Sunderland and frankly a lot of American's have suffered in England. It is much better and much wiser to find the right fit in terms of style of play and talent on the roster than it is to chase the wages and/or the promotion to a higher league (if the situation doesn't fit your skill set). Far too many Americans like Jozy at Sunderland, Wood at Hamburg, Hyndman etc have gone after the wages and/or promotion and ignored the clubs roster and style of play to their great detriment. Woods confidence went straight into the toilet just like Jozy's a half a decade ago when he couldn't get the service, and then just like Jozy, w/o the confidence he started botching sitters and any rare chance that came. Players need to learn from this example. Unless you're the sort of player like LeBron that can drag any level of talent to the top, you're only going to be as good as the talent around you, and Wood's game requires support that was never going to be there in Hamburg. Jozy and Wood were never as good as their greatest heights, but they were also nowhere near as bad as the bottomless pits they fell into at Sunderland and Hamburg. W/so many kids on the way, I think it's crucial they learn from those guys and make moves to European clubs based on the coaching staff, style of play, and supporting cast in place, and not according to the wages, or the prestige of the club, or the auto-starting opportunity that might be there. You stand a much better chance of making a ton of money by moving to the best situations with lower wages then you do by going for the quick cash grab.
Hamid IMO is that awesome reflexes goalkeeper. Whet a shoot comes by, he's awesome stoping it. Now, he tends to make some shitty decisions at crosses or when the ball on his feet
As long as he is getting minutes for PSG, he’s going to be called in. On an aside, he’s been fine this game. No reason to write him off. Rubin in the other hand...
I would argue Trapp has been impacted by the lack of aggression from McKennie and Adams. They aren’t moving anywhere with the ball.
man... I don't want to pile on but Bobby Wood..... I honestly play rec league with guys who could pass the ball better than Wood. As soon as his athleticism leaves him in his 30s, he's going to have a very hard time adjusting
I love how Walters looks like the most savvy player on the field and he’s an old vet that defined his recent years with Stoke City... Yikes for both teams.
