It’s not even the 3rd division either. there were skeptics claiming a serie A player wasn’t good enough for this trash NT as if being called up is some kind of honor reserved for the best. Look at the roster and the majority are a bunch of shitty players playing in front of 30 fans in Korea or playing mercenary in China.

I think we can ride of him, but being already there, he deserves another chance. Even though his chances are starting to became too many.

We need to drop Jung Woo Young & Kim Shin Wook first before anyone else.

Ok, so I'll be that guy.

LSW had a pretty terrible first 20 min and then played very well for the remainder of his time on the pitch. He clearly did a lot better when he stopped trying to run through everyone every time he had the ball and embraced his role. That being said, classic BSK. This guy had a decent match against a bunch of Honduras no-names who barely trained for this and handed korea 15+ turnovers in their own third, and all of a sudden we are forgetting the years of frustration and watching him rot and play terribly in his limited opportunities at HV. Yeah he played exceptionally for his debut cap but people are getting a tad carried away here. I also appreciate it's because there's so little to be positive abt with the KNT, esp after a lackluster performance like this. And I agree that this decent performance supports the argument that we should be deploying our younger players sooner and that's a systemic failing. So, I agree with all that but still -- people need to chill just a bit.

Others have also said it, but MSM was also kind of terrible other than those 5 seconds.

Anyways, sorry -- someone was going to do it eventually so I'll do it today.

He had a decent match actually, excepted that pass missed at the end of the match (probably due to a lack of concentration). His positioning was overall good and his tackles were decent.

Additionally, he had a couple decent crosses and took a decent free kick (and also had a selfishly horrendous one as well). But he had a couple of bad giveaways which is what BSK is very sensitive to.

lol, i get that everyone here is desperate to see him do well but until he does this against a halfway decent squad, i'm going to keep it in my pants.

Kudos to Lee, he played better than more senior members of the NT, and I think that's something to take away.

But overall, I agree with you. This Honduras B team looked like they had one too much the night before. The fact that we only managed to create a handful of chance is just pathetic.

I think Shin Taeyong is the most guilty of it. I remember his first press conference and he was defending the K-league and how it's not an inferior league, how Stielike should have given K-leaguers more chance etc. Like I agree that Stielike were to reliant on CSL and Middle-east based players and maybe should have given different K-leaguers more chances. However, STY is just doing what Stielike is doing by overly relying on K-league instead of doing his job properly scouting different leagues/players. Like why is Kim Shinwook even in this squad but not Suk Hyunjun? I doubt KSW can even score 1 goal in Ligue 1. Then he just brings in random no-name K-leaguers instead of trying to bring players that are young and promising, or doing well in other leagues like the J-league.
He's also way too old school by relying on old veterans. Sad.

Not only KSW won't score a goal in ligue 1, he won't win any header neither. L1 defenders are usually physically strong and good in the air.

I didn’t think MSM was terrible but instead was useful/decent. Granted, we changed formations, but he started making a few nice runs and some good off the ball movement (mixed in with some bad offsides positioning) to open up space that we failed to get from either Hong Chul or LCY. His touch was like a raquetball player with the ball. But then he showed good composure to score. For a debut, not bad.

thats fair, esp the bolded part. i was a little harsh on that one. his first few touches were pretty terrible as would be probably expected for his first NT appearance.

My problem with JWY was that he lacked any form of ring generalship in midfield. Isn’t he supposed to be a playmaker at club level? He sucks as a water carrier. He blows as a vacuum. And tonight as he’s done before when filling in for KSY, he hides or blunts penetration with ridiculous back passes at the wrong time in the wrong areas of the pitch.

KSW opened up space for KYK to hilariuosly fail at scoring an unmarked header on a set piece. Otherwise, I forgot that someone that big had entered the match as a sub. It was as if he were wearing the invisible cloak of uselessness again.

We can’t rely on KSW in a 443 and he’s useless in a 442. It’s really troubling to see him play at the expense of a battler like SHJ or even JDW. Seriously, it feels like STY is projecting his insecurities from his playing days by foregoing SHJ and JDW.

It seems STY has something against SHJ, JDW and NTH (or he is just stupid). The latter (not Suk) apparently didn't have a proper behaviour during Stielike's era, if my memory serves me.

You know Sin Taeyong is like Won Gyun. The Korean royal court (KFA) likes to throw people under the bus like Lee Sunshin (Hong Myungbo) and they are very incompetent. They like to hire people with connections like Won Gyun (STY), but Won Gyun is totally out of his depth. 2018 WC= Battle of Chilcheollyang. Just watch.

MSM is a poor mans version of LKH. Against a world cup team. he would get slaughtered. I noticed that Honduras gave us wayyyy too much time. Less technical teams like Honduras would never play attacking football against us (remember Olympics). They will focus on set pieces and counters knowing how bad our defense is (hence Iran/Uzbek/China etc). Sweden will probably have this approach.
