    Football is a young man's game....If alvez was 25 i would have never said that...He is very goodin attack...But against a fast opponent LW player he needs pace and energy to stop him. Or outrun him.

    Yeah. It's a pretty major loss. Part of my concern about Brazil was their fullback combo, because Alves and Marcelo are still fire, and Alves still has some juice left in his legs.

    He was the best RB in the world last season (along with Carvajal). It was clear this season that he has lost quite a bit of pace. And that was the worry with him. Nevertheless, he is still better than Danilo/Fagner and the current lot.

    This is still why I say we need to play with 3 centerbacks!!

    Ironically, Germany probably have the heir to the RB throne. Kimmich was impressive this year IMO. Probably the world's best.

    It’s possible. Kimmich might be the best, but it’s just very difficult to tell in the aftermath of Lahm and with Alves on the wane. No one’s really on their former level or even the level of a 2010 Maicon now.
