We have 3 separate and distinct lists going in here...

DHC1's = USMNT current players organized by league strength

    Eleven Bravo's = Top 50 opinion pool

Mine (footsatt) = Current coaches pool (based on minutes played)

Correct me if I am wrong @DHC1 and @Eleven Bravo

Mine is more focused on YAs as that's where it originated and 11Bravo kindly asked if i would port it over here.

@Carvelli3 had taken over the master list and came up with a really good spreadsheet. It’s probably time for an update. I’ve traditionally done the master list but wanted to try out something different this cycle if the master list is taken over by someone else. Which, the point of the master list is to have an idea of all the USMNT players in the pool.

In my top 50, I try to go mostly based on current player selections, then top club performances with points given based on a measure of different factors, including club/league, playing time, and impact on the field. Lastly, I do measure based on what I hear from public opinion on a player, particularly in cases of monitoring prospect players. Although, there is some inherent bias... I do try to be as neutral as I possibly can be and do try to listen to feedback in providing the best speculation of the player pool. That said, I believe anyone who wants to form their own list is more than welcome to do so. Moreover, I appreciate what footsatt and dhc have to offer in something different.

Not sure how I forgot to include the master list... I used it to start my list. So there are 4 distinct pools and others post thier own occasionally too.

    Sorry about that @Carvelli3

    So Cal
What do you mean by this? How does a player like Brook's success or failure reflect on the US' development system? I could understand it a bit better if Brooks was a poor player and was successful with the USMNT (the implication being that he wouldn't be successful if the US was better at producing talent)...but he is a quality player.

Other than that, thank you (and the others) for providing the list. Interesting to see the opinions and comments.

There's a poster who believes that if the USMNT has success based on players born/raised outside of the US, it means that the US' developmental system fails to produce good players.

Hey, wanted to ask why this thread was unstickied, meanwhile the 2018 is still stickied. That one can be taken down but would ask that this be added back.

Speaking of posters who give a lot of good insight and speaking of player pool discussions... @IndividualEleven i would request he offers an MLS American player pool evaluation. He gives great insight on American players on the week by week basis in the MLS flavors of the week and personally always enjoy reading his posts on the matter.

If things line up like I'm hoping, it will be the first time that we will see the team about 85% what it will look like in 18 months. I'm looking forward to seeing if most will gel into a dangerous team to be feared.

With USSF in charge, the probably of that happening is in negative digit territory. In fact, they'll probably not even get to the Hex.

    little harsh

these three matches though are scrimmages at best. The next club season will tell us a lot about where things are going.

Well, given how incompetent USSF is, what I am saying is a very real scenario. I'm not referring to the friendlies anyway. I'm referring to the leadership, which has demonstrated beyond a shadow of a doubt that it doesn't know what it's doing.

I can't find any record of them playing on the same team for even 1 minute. It could've happened. Not all U-17 matches are listed, but among listed matches with lineups given, there is no record I can find of them being on the same field for the same team at the same time. I have found multiple times where one would be subbed in at the time the other was subbed out. But no record of them playing together. With the youth teams, Pulisic was always in the first group, McKennie in the second group. Often times, most of the first teamers don't get onto the field all that often with the second teamers.

It would be wild if the first time they were on the field together was in the Revieraderby. Against each other, of course. I think Pulisic tells a story of McKennie sticking a straw in his ear at a U14 camp, so they must have played together in some game.

The federation lists match reports for the youth teams. Not one I can find where they were on the field at the same time. They were at some of the same camps and played in some of the same games, but weren't on the field at the same time. The reasoning is explained above. Pulisic was first string in his age group, McKennie second string. Very often the first string and second string players are kept separate, in terms of minutes. And even then, McKennie was only second string at certain times. Other times, he wasn't called up.

I trust your research skills certainly! I'm more than happy to call this the first time Pulisic and McKennie play together. Unless Sarachan does something weird and not play them...

We can assume Parks has never played with either of them too. Although, he and McKennie might have played a club game against each other in the suburbs of Dallas.

I'm sure they were on the same field in training, maybe scrimmages that aren't listed, but nothing that I can find from what US Soccer lists.

Parks played against McKennie in the Dallas area, but there's no indication they played together. I assume maybe there's a chance Pulisic played against Parks in some countrywide tournament somewhere, but they haven't been on any of the same YNT teams. Parks only has one US call up, a U-20 camp about a year ago. Pulisic and McKennie both weren't there.
